Comics Review: DC Comics' 52 Week 26
Published January 16, 2007
It’s not Halloween in the DC universe anymore, but that doesn’t mean that monsters can’t be involved in week 26 of 52. In the middle of this issue the family of the mad scientist Dr. Sivana have dinner with the Black Adam family. Like the cover promises, the Sivana family, a mixture of beautiful and nerdy children who are as odd a match as their parents, sit down with Black Adam, Isis and Osiris. In the middle of dinner a reptilian beast ruins the dining room and everything else in sight. Regular families would pray for something like that to break up the awkward conversations.
Mrs. Sivana invites the Black Adam family to her home because she wants her husband to be found and safely returned home. Black Adam is the last person to call if you wanted to save Sivana, because apparently Dr. Sivana is an old Captain Marvel villain. We readers know exactly what Dr. Sivana is up to, and in this issue we take another trip to Oolong Island. While these mad scientists are building weapons for some evil entity, they do look like they are having fun, and they are even surprised with the arrival of a female scientist to the island. What more could nerds want than to have a brainy beautiful scientist amongst them while they build awesome technology?
What could bring this issue down? Probably another confrontation between Steel and his estranged niece. This time Natasha and John Henry have it out on the set of the Jack Ryder television show “You are Wrong!” I didn’t have too much of a problem with the Steel story this time, but I just want to be spared the drama. At least we learn from the set design of Jack Ryder’s show that it might be close to Christmas time. That seems odd since just last week it was Halloween. I guess you can never be too early to be in the Christmas spirit.

Absolutely man, Hawkgirl kicks ass on Justice League Cartoon and is definitely a more interesting character than Hawkman.
Aquaman, since Peter David roughed him , he can pretty interesting. Too bad I keep seeing him as a Greenpeace posterboy, else I would have given him an honest and decent chance.
