I wonder how you can be so free with accusations of lying considering your inability to prove intent in any way.

Of course I also wonder if u have a life. Wife, kids, dog? Maybe u need a productive and rewarding hobby...

"Iraq never DID pester us."

So, shooting at American and British airplanes patrolling the No-Fly Zone on an almost daily basis (in direct violation of the the agreement signed by the Iraqi government in 1991 that ended the Gulf War) doesn't rise to the level of "pestering" in your world?

Hazy one: "...would they leave us alone if we left?"

Who knows? Who knows if the world will leave us alone if all 2 billion muslims are eradicated? Maybe, to assure future safety and security we will have to kill everyone on earth who is not American. And maybe some Americans, too. You've already volunteered John and Jane.

Oh wait a minute! Iraq never DID pester us. It was OBL and al Queda. Whatever happened to OBL? Did Dear Leader ever follow up on that?

<i>Er, excuse me, Vietnam-era veterans who live in Montana, and cyber-stalk people for nearly three years.</i>

Ironically, they aren't entitled; unless they can prove a stressor with service connection. Which is difficult to do if you didn't serve in a combat zone.

By my logic? Kill 2 billion Muslims? Is that what you read into my question Biff? All I asked was if we leave will "THEY"(extremist not 2 billion muslims) leave us alone? your attempt to stir a pot is sad and besides why kill 2 billion muslims when two unamericans(John and Jane)would probably fit the bill. You see how easy it is to make stupid statements Biff? It's like pointing the finger elsewhere when you do something wrong and most americans are pretty good at it.

Come out of the Haze, man:

"Question for all who think we should get out of this situation: If we leave,do you think they will leave us alone? Remember we are the infidels."

So, does that mean, by your logic, that we must kill 2 billion muslims?

"...that treasonist bastard Kerry!..."

Seems to me that the Treasonist Bastards these days are the guys who are breaking the USA bank and involving us in a losing unnecessary unending war 10,000 miles away for no good strategic reason. And I think you know who THEY are.

Question for all who think we should get out of this situation: If we leave,do you think they will leave us alone? Remember we are the infidels. Question for all those who think we should make part of the Middle East a parking lot for an Israeli shopping mall:Where would we be now if we tried to figure out why the Japanese hated us in WWII? Have a Merry Christmas and really support our troops.(unlike that treasonist bastard Kerry!)and Fonda and Hayden and the rest of those puke liberals.

Clavos said:

"The whole issue of the medals is cloudy as hell. As a grunt in Nam myself, the accounts I've read (and the citations themselves) make it clear to me that at least two of the medals were questionable awards which he received more because of his background and social standing (as well as his connections) than because of his alleged heroism.

In short, an ordinary infantry grunt probably would not have received medals for the same actions."

And . . . .

"As for the Swift Boat Vets: Yes, they're partisan, and yes, they're partially (even mostly) funded by Republican backers, but I have yet to see credible refutations of many (not all-some have been refuted) of their allegations about Kerry."

First of all, I'd be curious as to which two awards were questionable.

And I agree, a grunt most likely would not have received the same medals for the same actions, but that isn't limited to Kerry. It's a Navy thing -- you do know that, don't you? But even then, to a degree, anyway, it is a little like comparing apples and oranges

As for the Swift Boat Veterans for "truth", well, their credibility has been largely shot to hell. Anyone who has done the research (and doing so is difficult, I admit, as there's so much garbage out there), will see that while not actually lying, they have misrepresented Kerry's service in Vietnam left and right.

I don't know if the Silver Star is one of the awards you are referring to as questionable, but that is one case-in-point. What they did there was a masterful job of spin and misrepresentation, along with omission of a few documents and testimony of those present -- documents and testimony which show them for for what they are . . which has little to do with the "truth".

There are other anti-Kerry situations which they have had a part in one way or another, that are flat out false. The two most blatant that come to mind -- the one about him returning to the scene of the places where he received awards and filming re-enactments . . . . and the claim that his photo is in a Saigon museum to honor him for helping them win the war.

Doug

Bliffle,

Hogwash.

You obviously didn't read either of my posts with any kind of a discerning eye.

But I'm not surprised; you've shown many times on many threads that you only "think" in stereotypes and sound bites.

Read the book,

<A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/Stolen-Valor-Vietnam-Generation-History/dp/096670360X/sr=1-1/qid=1166803126/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-5667729-5342858?ie=UTF8&s=books">"Stolen Valor : How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of Its Heroes and Its History"</A>

...and then come back and tell me I'm prejudiced.

shark

Finally, I got your attention, good...

<i>READ THAT AGAIN: "...THEY'RE EQUATING a guy who won medals UNDER FIRE in BATTLE -- with -- a Hollywood actress who posed with a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun!</i>

NOT THEY, shark; <u>CLAVOS</U>, and it has nothing to do with doctored photos; it has EVERYTHING to do with his being a LYING, SCHEMING ASSHOLE.

I'm fully aware there were atrocities committed by US troops in Vietnam. If you'd ever bothered to actually check into it, you'd know that actual DOCUMENTED cases are very few (about 320, out of more than 2.5 million troops who served in-country), and that the VVAW's Winter Soldier Investigation from whom Kerry got his info, has been debunked and discredited over the years.

BUT in his testimony in Congress, Kerry made it sound like EVERY ONE OF US WAS COMMITTING ATROCITIES EVERY DAY.

And yet you say that by doing so,

<i>Kerry was actually TRYING TO HELP his fellow vets.</i>

Yeah, right.

You make a big deal about his medals; medals HE HIMSELF DEVALUED by symbolically throwing them away. ""symbolically" because he didn't even have the commitment to throw his own; he threw somebody else's.

You write:

<i>a guy who won medals UNDER FIRE in BATTLE</i>

I said my piece about those "medals" and how they were won in #228.

EVERYTHING asshole Kerry has done publicly since his return from Vietnam has been cynical and calculated; he has built his entire political career on the backs of REAL heroes, by denigrating and slandering them.

You also said:

<i>Rich Assholes in America are able to hypnotize the SHEEP with a few well-placed commercials.</i>

Alas, too true. For evidence: asshole Kerry, who is the very antithesis of all the Democratic party stands for: a rich (with other people's money), patrician asshole who is a cynical manipulator and a liar and cheat who has managed to bamboozle the entire Democratic party into thinking he's a hero and a patriot.

Just FYI: I began to form this opinion of Kerry in 1971, shortly after his Congressional appearance. It has NOTHING to do with GOP propaganda.

Yes, I equate him with Fonda. He's not a traitor to the nation, as she is, but he IS a traitor to all the rest of us who served there.

They're both scum.
