What's that you say? Yeah, you're right, this is pretty good.

So anyway, I wanted to tell you a story. It's a story about a time, not so long gone, back when we as a nation still had our innocence. Folks sat out on the porch swing - kind of like you and I right now - and talked while they listened to the radio.

The music coming out of the radio was - what's that?! You know you might be on to something; it did sound a lot like this new Hancock record.

But as I was saying, superstars like Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Kitty Wells, and others were broadcasted on WSM's Grand Ole Opry show all across the country. You know, my pappy told me that back then, WSM had one of the most powerful broadcast towers in the country and that's what helped them get so popular - people could tune in, at least that's what my pappy says.

You're right; this album does take you back to that time doesn't it? You don't hear a good, solid group of musicians too often these days lay down a juke-joint, swinging beat that makes you want to grab up your honey and take her for a spin on the dance floor do ya? And this Hancock guy, he sure knows how to lead that band doesn't he? And his voice? Man, I ain't heard someone sing like that since I used to listen to my daddy's old vinyl records. You believe him - ya know? He's real - sounds like the kind of fella I could buy a beer for down at the waterin-hole after he played a show.
