SMITH looked great scene wise, interesting mix of characters but the "no back story" problem. It's not good to see death of "good people". The two guys shot on the beach and security guard first show.

Were the two guys really bad criminals themselves? Could have showed them prior on the beach doing some bad crime. Security guard killed, but he's a wife beater, skimmer of museum stuff. At the police department, other cops are sad and mad, but wife comes in saying "glad he's dead!" moment.

SMITH characters killing other bad people, makes them "good". Hindering people in other crimes without causing their deaths is what a good thief should do.

Maybe that's why it was suddenly canceled. Seeing criminals cause death of "good people" and getting away with it, show after show.

Hi,
I wasn't thrilled with the show either. It wasn't awful, just a run of the mill. I did like the piece of music the pilot closed with. The vocal was very electronic sounding and the chorus was "Mmm...what you say". Anyone know the title or artist? Thanks!

Me too, Lisa - I love that one. Nothing else has really grabbed me, but I've got a ton still waiting for me on my DVR.

Very much in agreement with your assessment of this, Diane. I saw the first episode and don't think I'll waste any more of my time. So far the best thing I've seen this season is Studio 60.
