Courtney Love To Whitney Houston: Crack Is Whack, Time to Dump the Hack and Get On Track

Wayward songstress Whitney Houston appears to be finally coming out of her drug-induced coma, and may even be on the comeback trail. And who better to help you clean up your act than repeat-rehabber Courtney Love, who has had more comebacks than a flight attendant.

According to Us Weekly, long-time Houston mentor, music mogul Clive Davis, and former Hole leader Love have teamed up to help refurbish the troubled pop-diva's groove. At Love's suggestion, addiction coach Warren Boyd — credited with slapping the Love back into shape — was called into smooth the transition from crack-head to soulful songstress once more.

Clearly this strategy is yielding fruit, as Whitney not only entered rehab, but has also made an equally huge step to recovery by dumping her deadbeat, ghetto-ass, ho-humping, wanksta husband - the once cool Bobby Brown.

Brown, who hasn't had a hit since '92 with "Humpin Around," can now only be credited for crackin' up America's first and foremost popstar, wasting her best years under a fog of dirty coke and jacked-uPhotobucket - Video and Image Hostingp living.

For now, the couple are only "legally separated" and haven't formally discussed dividing up their joint property. Despite the hit potential and previous success, the couple's estimated assets have dwindled considerably, and splitting their — oh, let's guess — last remaining $523.73, three crack pipes, dirty sofa-with-burn holes, busted rusted Caddy, and their daughter, 13 year-old Bobbi Kristina, shouldn't be all that difficult.

I don't think they actually plan to divide the girl anatomically, just her custody, which is currently with mom, Whitney, in Laguna Hills, California, with Bobby having visitation rights.

While Whitney hasn't issued any public statements, Us cites sources close her as saying, "Getting sober has given her the clarity to move on from him."

"After all these years, she cleaned up and got smart. She didn’t need him and realized it."
Brown's official response to People magazine about his separation from Houston was, "I'm really saddened by the situation."

To which the collective world says, "You should be saddened, bitch, you done gutted out a Rolls." Or something like that.

Houston, certainly the more famous and talented of the two, was born with a promising career ahead of her: it would have been difficult not to with Cissy Houston as your mother, Dionne Warwick as your first cousin, and Aretha Franklin as your godmother. Not only did Whitney have a world-beating singing career, she was also stunningly beautiful, a burgeoning movie star, and had a more or less unsullied reputation. Houston helped define the word "diva" with one of the most gifted voices of our time.

Equally significant, she was a hit-making machine, charting over 35 #1 hits on various Billboard charts, ranging from Pop, to Adult Contemporary, R&B and Dance. Beginning in 1985, she scored hard and often with such huge hits such as "You Give Good Love," "How Will I Know," "Saving All My Love," "The Greatest Love of All," "So Emotional," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "Didn't We Almost Have It All," and her classic remake of Dolly Parton's amazing song "I Will Always Love You."

"Bobby "My Prerogative" Brown had a little je ne sais quoi back in the day, but chose instead to blow it on, well, blow and cheap whores."

In his defense, I'd go cheap too, because you can buy more whores and once you buy 12 at once, you get a cut rate. Now that's money management.

Yeah, if only he had applied that logic to Whitney's cash, they might still be ridin' dirty, yo.

#3 — September 21, 2006 @ 20:45PM — Marcus

Great article. Glad she finally got smart and dumbed his dumb ass!

#4 — September 21, 2006 @ 22:55PM — Miss Kitty

Great read! Good riddance to that no-good Bobby Brown!

#5 — September 22, 2006 @ 09:41AM — CJ

As executive producer of two $100 mil movies and a successful TV movie franchise since 2001, I highly doubt Whitney's hurting for cash. Remember, crack is cheap...

#6 — September 22, 2006 @ 10:40AM — Eric Olsen

glad this one seems to have a happy ending - nice one Dawn!

#7 — September 22, 2006 @ 13:46PM — Dawn

CJ - actually Whitney is hurting for cash. She does not get royalty checks and touring payout like I said in the article. Not to mention that the money she made was long ago and many, many hits of crack, serveral houses and mortgages later, plus numerous Browns asking for handouts and supporting her good for nothing husband. Whitney has been generous to everyone but herself. I truly hope she gets it together, and while her music in general isn't my thing, I can deeply appreciate her talent and found her at one point stunningly beautiful.

Here's to hopin' and wishin' she breaks the addiction to drugs and Bobby.

#8 — September 23, 2006 @ 11:15AM — TOM BRIGGS

WHY DOES EVERYONE DUMP ON BOBBY BROWN FOR WHITNEY HOUSTON'S DRUG PROBLEMS? SHE HAS A LONG TRACK RECORD FOR USING DRUGS, THE PROBLEM IS WHITNEY HOUSTON, NOT BOBBY BROWN.

#9 — September 24, 2006 @ 09:46AM — Eric Olsen

does her drug use predate her relationship with Brown? I wasn't aware of that

#10 — September 24, 2006 @ 15:18PM — Mach Stelmacher [URL]

This is league with Tina Turners split farewell with Ike maybe. If she produces new work, maybe it will
reflect a little of that. She should call up all her sisters and do a duets album Patti LaBelle..maybe she'll get by with a little help from her friends...
great blog entry by the way!!! ******

Every one think bobby is to blame for her addiction, but is her girlfriend robin who got her stated. (she is bi-sexual)

#12 — September 24, 2006 @ 22:03PM — chrstina [URL]

Thats whats wrong with coulpes in the entertainment. Every things about money! Not love. Bobby did not have a gun to her head & say whitney if u dont hit this rock im going to blow your brains out. Her home girl got her to smoking crack. But u dont hear about that. Just bobby because he is a bad boy. U dont here about the good times they. Rumer has it she is broke. If he did not love her & it was all about the money why was he was still there. Its not like she looks good any more. I was one of the ones who hoped they would get it together now dont get me wrong. I love whitney and pray she can get it together for her self & little girl. But she has to do it for her not any one else

#13 — September 25, 2006 @ 17:10PM — Eric Olsen

ultimately she is responsible for herself - totally agree

#14 — September 25, 2006 @ 19:36PM — Martin Lav

It is her responsibility and her's alone, however, it would seem from this outsiders perspective that their relationship is just as poisonous and addicting as her drugs. Her first step seems to be a smart one and that's her separation from him. If he has a drug problem as well, as it would appear, then it will be best for him as well. If they both get recovery, then who knows, maybe they will turn out to be good for each other, maybe not.

#15 — September 27, 2006 @ 16:19PM — Eric Olsen

excellent points Martin, totally agree

#16 — September 27, 2006 @ 19:41PM — Mach Stelmacher [URL]

Maybe word has just gotten round to her on just how
terrific she really is. A real loving man would
never let her sacrifice her career and spiral downwards and would have NONE OF IT. I know its easy to assume MrEX dragged her down to be at his level.
But thats the way I see it. Not too run too deep with the ball in the end zone and do a dance in it of course. Perhaps she had self worth issues already going into this now ended relationship/marriage who knows.

#17 — September 28, 2006 @ 11:23AM — Dianna [URL]

now whitney you need to prove to me and everboby eles that you still the best singer in the world i love you so much.i wish i can meet you thank you for saying good bye to him.in come to stl when you get your your self all back love you

#18 — September 29, 2006 @ 11:13AM — gari [URL]

christina, where do u get your logic from? Does it make sense that he would put a gun to her head? No, but did he support her either? no. he could have said well honey if u dont stop im leaving, i dont want a crack head, right, support uh, no, Bobby was too bust scraping, remember, he cultivated that environment of drugs for her, and once he got her where he wanted, he knew a sober Whitney had too much sense to go alonng with his lieing, cheating antics, therefore he made it seem like heaven for her. Now you tell me, how supportive could he have been to allow his sister take picture, of her in those conditions, all of them ...(Brown Family) should be ashamed of themselves, they like a curse and if anybody see them coming should run. trust me.
The sister claimed , "I did it out of love" i believe her, yeah..love of money, whitneys money. piece of trash.
Can you imagine Bobby not to be blamed, i mean which husband that loves their wife, now not her money or what she can do for you....but Love..true love...doesnt know when to get her help. Unless his attempt was to kill her so that he can cash in on the insurance policy. Did he not see the house, the pics. OMG...i feel for whitney, yes, and i pray for her long befoore those pictures surfaced. I am happy she is not dead, so bobby yes and his family looses. Whitney will come back, the curse is not on her, its on The Browns.

#19 — October 5, 2006 @ 07:49AM — Snarkattack [URL]

Wanksta! Haha, that is a word I really ought to be using more often in everyday parlance. Amusing as always, Dawn.

#20 — November 6, 2006 @ 22:25PM — betty

Whitney you don't have to prove nothing to nobody but God and even with that you has a free will. Good luck child of God.yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not promise. say good-by to the past.

#21 — November 7, 2006 @ 11:00AM — Henrique

She will never stop....get her on heroin - that's more calming than crack.

#22 — November 8, 2006 @ 16:25PM — npy [URL]

Recovery is a long and hard process. If whitney want it bad enough she will get it. Every one has a crack-head in their family somewhere its just not public. I wish her the very best. I've been listening to her music since I was a young girl and I believe everyone deserves a second chance. About the Ex that is just what he is the EX!!! As for the family when she makes a comeback stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself why STUPID is writtn on the forehead

#28 — May 30, 2007 @ 13:26PM — kango

If Bobby really and trully loved Whitney he would never have lead her down this road. Even if he didn't introduce the crack to her, He was supposed to be a real man and protect his woman. He is the "SUCKA of all SUCKA'S" He is not just kicked to the curb he is under it

#29 — November 29, 2007 @ 15:17PM — Lucy [URL]

Whitney Houston is my all time favorate singer and she has the most beautiful voice. She also had beautiful looks but now she is ruined and i blame bobby brown,if he really did love her he wouldn`t have let her do this to herself.she needs to start all over again and start fresh. get rid of the moster that has come and get whitney back.from lucy aged 16.

#30 — November 29, 2007 @ 15:31PM — Lucy [URL]

Wish you all the best whitney houston from lucy aged 16

#31 — November 29, 2007 @ 15:36PM — Lucy [URL]

The problem is whitney and bobby because shes the one taking drugs bobby isnt forcing her to do it but bobby plays a part in it too he`s surpose to love whitney not make her ill by not helping her.if you ask me he dosent deserve her she`s to good for him

#32 — April 6, 2008 @ 18:30PM — lversosa

There is probably a lot more in her past or to this situation then just Bobby getting her hooked. But at this point she is turning her life around so why dwell in all that. She's moving forward. She has one of the most beautiful well trained voices and I pray that she can make a comeback. I grew up listening to all her great songs. Everyone falls in some way but not everyone has the strength to get back up. Especially having to do so in the public eye.
