It's been over a decade since Bob Seger put out an album. I for one am indeed eager to Face the Promise. This must be heard.

Lionel Richie also has his first album in awhile, Coming Home. I really hated ol' Lionel back in the day. Lionel and Kenny Rogers were both members of the ruling committee of the Anti-Christ. (The Anti-Christ is, of course, a committee).

Flibildy fleu! Back in my day even the bad music had tunes. In these years of tuneless and vulgar anti-social hippity-hoppity and metallic nonsense, though, Lionel Richie and even the dreaded Kenny Rogers don't sound too bad. Lionel has certainly showed some significant skills at composing actual melodies. I'll just say I'd listen to Lionel Richie over the Basement Jaxx. The devil drives a hard bargain.

Justin Timberlake has a new album this week, FutureSex/LoveSounds. Lord help us, previews suggest something intended to be half Prince, half Marvin Gaye. Being Justin Timberlake (wonder what you'd see from the Timberlake portal), I would guess the result would actually land somewhere closer to a poor man's Wham.

The Town and the City is the latest studio album from Los Lobos, a band always worth hearing.

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly and sometimes candidate Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at MoreThings.com, what with the paranoid religious visions and the Pentacostal music and visions of God and Sarah Palin and anarchy running amok and such. Somebody oughta call the cops to report his out of control freedom of conscience. Till they come to take him away somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else, you can check out his weekly column of NEW ALBUM RELEASES.

the Seger and Los Lobos are already on my list of "must haves" as neither one has ever disappointed me in the past. Really looking forward to seeing BS tour in support of this...been too long since I've seen him live.
