Hawaii to the Cast of Lost: Stay Off Our Streets
Published September 07, 2006
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Mr. Eko on the hit ABC series Lost, was picked up early Tuesday morning by Waikiki police for disobeying a police officer and driving without a license. He spent the next six hours in jail before coughing up $500 for bail.
He is the ninth member of the Lost cast to be cited for a traffic violation.
But first what’s a story about Lost without a good conspiracy theory? Mr. Akinnuoye-Agbaje was arrested in Hawaii. Lost is filmed in Hawaii. Mr. Akinnuoye-Agbaje played Mr. Eko in Lost. Lost is currently filming its third season. Could it be that Mr. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will continue to play Mr. Eko in the third season, even though his character was presumably blown to bits by an electromagnetic force at the end of season two?
Does this mean that Locke and Desmond are still alive, too?
Man, I can’t wait for season three.
Back to the gossip. Akinnuoye-Agbaje is scheduled to appear in court September 26. Let’s hope his character’s fate will fare better than that of his fellow co-stars who have been arrested for traffic violations.
Both Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested last December after failing sobriety tests and spent some time in Hawaiian jail cells. Both were released on $500 bail.
Watros pled guilty to a DUI, paid a fine, had her driver’s license suspended, and took some counseling. Rodriguez, having already received several traffic violations in Los Angeles, spent five days in jail and paid a larger fine. She then pled guilty in L.A. court and spent a few more days in jail.

Both actresses' characters were killed off by the end of the second season.
Hawaiian traffic officers must have an eye out for the cast of Lost, for six others have been cited. That, or the rest of Hawaii's residents must drive really slow.
The Lost cast who have received traffic tickets are as follows:
• Sawyer: Josh Holloway paid $153 in fines for going 53 miles-per-hour in a 35 mph zone Sept. 21, 2005.
• Charlie: Dominic Monaghan has received two speeding tickets and a citation for driving without a valid license, which has since been dismissed.
• Sayid: Naveen Andrews had to shell out $122 for going 70 mph in a 45 mph zone on Oct. 15, 2004. On Mar. 9, 2005, he received another ticket for going 70 in a 35 mph area.
• Boone: Ian Somerhalder after going 42 in a 25 mph zone.
• Steve: Christian Bowman was fined $112 for going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. He wrote a letter to the court, and the citation was reduced to 48 mph.
• Michael: Harold Perrineau Jr. got a ticket for having no car insurance and no safety check. Case dismissed after the actor was able to produce proof of insurance.
For the love of the people of Hawaii, for the sake of your fans, cast of Lost, please slow it down. If you drink, get a designated driver. Better yet, buy a bike and ride it to work.

According to every piece of press material released so far by ABC, they are indeed still alive.
