New Album Releases 9-5-2006: Beyonce, Audioslave, Kinky Friedman

Beyonce has a new album called B'day. She should form a supergroup with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson. Besides being a hot ticket, we'd only have to hear one dumb album at a time instead of four. It'd save resources and be good for the environment. I'm sure Al Gore would approve.

Audioslave have Revelations, their third album. Also, Spinal Tap have a new album A Matter of Life and Death. No wait — it's not Spinal Tap, it's Iron Maiden. How did I get them confused?

The main thing for cool people is a best-of by the future Texas governor Kinky Friedman, The Last of the Jewish Cowboys: The Best of Kinky Friedman. This fine collection includes likely campaign theme songs such as his signature tune, "They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore" and the ladies auxillary theme "Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed." Also, this has my other favorite Kinky tune, "We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to You."

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly and sometimes candidate Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at MoreThings.com, what with the paranoid religious visions and the Pentacostal music and visions of God and Sarah Palin and anarchy running amok and such. Somebody oughta call the cops to report his out of control freedom of conscience. Till they come to take him away somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else, you can check out his weekly column of NEW ALBUM RELEASES.
