Music Review: Danity Kane

When it comes to Bad Boy Records these days, it seems that Puffy Combs doesn’t give a damn. He’s screwed over any remaining artists he’s had (Faith, 112, Carl Thomas, etc) and put his concentration into things other than music. If you think I’m hating — take a listen to Danity Kane.
Yes, Yes, The Making The Band 3 group should be given a chance as this is their first album. Cassie can ride that excuse, but even she knows that it’s her package and not really the quality of her music. Considering this album has sold more than Cassie’s, I figured it has to be good. After a few songs, I’m convinced Diddy got all copies of Danity Kane’s debut album to give the illusion of success.
The members of the reality-show created group (D. Woods, Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon and Aundrea) are your average good looking bunch. When they get in the studio however, you can hardly tell one singer from the other. Like Cassie’s album, it also doesn’t know exactly what it wants to be. It tries to be ghetto pop ("Show Stopper," Touching My Body"), regular pop ("Press Pause," "Stay With Me") and dance pop ("Back Up," "Ooh Ahh"). The genre jumping would have been fine if their voices actually changed. Perhaps they could have taken a cue from Faith Evans, who at least switched from R&B to jazz at one point with “Santa Baby” from her last Christmas album.
I understand new groups have no control over their sound and the songs they choose. I also understand you can’t choose your team when you first get discovered; all you are looking for is to get out there. Cassie rode that excuse and thought it would work in her live performances and interviews – she was wrong. She not only showed she was “new,” but that she wasn’t an artist who could give the appearance of making the songs in the first place.
From what I’ve read, Danity Kane’s personality and performances have been much better received than Cassie’s has. Being as such, they will most likely get a second chance. I just wish for the love of god that people with power like Diddy would just come up with some lyrics, not merely copy words from the schoolyard and make them songs.

DANITY KANE IS A LEGIT GROUP THEY JUST CAME TOGETHER IN A VERY PUBLIC WAY SO WHAT! I DONT GET WHY THATS A REASON TO HATE ITS NOT! THEY CAN SING SOME BETTER THAN OTHERS AND THATS NORMAL.THEY ARE LIVING THEIR DREAM SO PEOPLE NEED TO BACK OFF. IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM THEN DONT BUY THEIR CD'S AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.I READ THAT SOMEONE COMMENTED THAT THEY ARE JUST AVERAGE LOOKING GIRLS. SOOO WHAT? yo people have to stop tripping...these girls are extremely talented. They can really I MEAN REALLY REALLY SING. Mark my words these girls are going to be huge superstars!! All of them have unique voices and when they put it together they sound fantastic!. I admit i was hatin on them before but it was because i wanted to be in their shoes and they all are very good looking. so i understand that is why peeps are hatin on Danity Kane. But i say the girls forget about all the s*** peeps are sayin and keep makin the best albums. I wish DK the best for their future albums!!!!
Danity Kane is a real group. They are awesome girls and are not big headed about it. They are down to earth and can really sing. I love their album and wish them the best.
I have Danity Kanes album and I think it is very good much better than some performers albums that have been around for awhile. I think everyone should get this album and give it a shot, just wish i heard their songs on the radio more!
I don't know if some people know this or not, but albums CAN BE more than one genre. Maybe Danity Kane is a mix of R&B, hip hop, and pop. You can't really label a certain genre to an artist nowadays. Danity Kane is Danity Kane. No other way to describe it. I love em!

I LOVE DANITY KANE. ALL OF THEM BRING DIFFERENT ELEMENTS OF TALENTS TO THE GROUP AND THATS GREAT. I MEAN THEY ALL ARE MULTI-TALENTED AND THEY ALL ARE SEXY AND GOOD LOOKING. BUT THEY ALL ALSO HAVE THERE OWN DISTINCT VOICES ONLY A REAL DANITY KANE FAN COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN SUCH AS SHANNON SHE HAS A VOICE FOR POP THAT IS SWEET AND ANGELIC. AUBREY HAS THAT VOICE THAT DRAWS YOU IN AND GET YOU HOOKED. DAWN HAS THAT LOW EMOTION FILLED VOICE THAT KEEPS THE HARMONY OF THE GROUP. AUNDREA HAS THAT SEXY VOICE THAT LETS YOU KNOW SHE FILLS WHAT EVER IT IS SHE SINGING. AND LAST BUT DEFININTLY NOT LEAST D.WOODS HAS THE MOST VERSITILE VOICE I HAVE EVER HEARD AND SHE CAN SING HIGH AND LOW NOTES SO YOU CANT TRY TO HOLD HER ON ONE STYLE OF MUSIC. NOR CAN YOU LABEL THIS GROUP AS POP, R&B, OR ANY OTHER TYPE. I HAVE THEIR ALBUM AND IT IS GREAT(THEY HIT NUMBER ON THE CHARTS). I LOVE ALL THE SONGS BUT I REALLY LOVE THE SLOW SONGS SUCH AS RIDE FOR YOU, STAY WITH ME,I DONT WANT TO HURT YOU AND COME OVER. Danity Kane is a beautiful group created by a wonderful man, you have to give diddy his props on choosing a group that can sang and not some phony that can get by with just their appearances, all members are wonderful women with allot of talent that will take them far in life excelling in everything that they do!!!!!!!!

Yo i love Danity Kane a lot especially Aundrea but people need to stop hating on them girls because all of them can sang (I didn't say sing I said SANG)and all of them are very unique and one of a kind
