Mos Def arrested for impromptu show

Mos Def was arrested outside Radio City Music Hall last night because he did not have authorization to perform. The rapper was performing, from a flatbed truck, a version of the song “Katrina Clap,” which criticizes the Bush administration for its slow response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Police ordered the rapper to stop performing and then arrested him, as well as members of his entourage. Mos Def was released early on September 1. Mos Def’s third album is due out later this year.
