Joseph Hill of Culture Passes On and The Daily Music and Tech News

Singer from the reggae band Culture Joseph Hill has died suddenly at the age of 57. The band was midway through a European tour and in Berlin when the singer was struck by an illness. Hill founded Culture in 1976 and has been honored with a star on the Jamaican Reggae Walk of Fame. Culture have said they will be continuing their tour with Hill’s son Kenyatta filling in for his father.
YouTube launches channel Paris
YouTube on Tuesday will launch its first Brand Channel. Warner Bros. will use the channel to promote Paris Hilton’s debut album Paris. The Brand Channels are intended to sell a product and may include sponsors. Fox’s Prison Break will be sponsoring the Paris Hilton channel. The channel is part of platform that YouTube is calling Participatory video ads or PVAs.
OffSpring get to work on new album
Offspring have started to demo songs that will appear on the followup to their 2003 album Splinter. Although work on demos has begun, recording for the album itself has not. This will be the first studio release since 2003 although they did release a greatest hits record in 2005.
