The Simpsons Clips Leaked

These days, the movie industry needs to be extra sneaky, especially when testing the waters or cultivating their audience. This week, scenes from one of the most secretive projects since Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey were leaked, and FOX isn't happy.

Last Wednesday, someone uploaded two clips from The Simpsons to YouTube.com. The film isn't due to be released until July 2007. Today the clips, which appear to have been shot on a mini-videocamera at the San Diego Comic Convention, were taken down at the request of copyright owner FOX because its content was used without permission.

The first clip entailed Homer and Marge having an argument about Homer having to apologize for something he said or did while the whole town rallies outside their house. Before long the mob storms the house with ladders, breaking everything they can find.

Krusty: Mr. Cheeney! Take out the Baby!

The second clip featured Homer alone on a sled whipping some huskies before finally stopping to rest and being attacked by the dogs.

In these rough clips, the mob appeared to be much more aggressive than we're used to seeing on the show, and the animation appears looser than in the TV series (more “camera” work and less reliance on a change of shots). Hungry fans may be looking forward to something better animated with more space for characterization, as was the case when South Park made the leap from the small screen to the big screen in 1999.

And look, the clips have resurfaced!

The only thing that can be said (in my best Nelson) is "Ha ha"

I hope the Simpsons breaks the Gunsmoke record of longevity by being renewed again in two years. The Simpsons has become a cultural icon of modern American heritage.

Unfortunately, the videos are gone again. The links above don't work anymore.

Alright, I'll be the one to start it:

The Simpsons hasn't been funny since the 90's.

A-a-a-and, flame war.

Right, all these people that are saying the simpsons isnt funny, well, you know, fuck you, you may not find it funny, if u were the majority it would have been cancelled, so u are the minority, so if u dont find it funny, stop bitching and provide something better.....we all waiting! so hurry up, or fuck up!

You fool, the Simpsons is still funny. There may have been some bleak periods, but you don't get a show on T.V. for 18 years unless people are still watching. You should stopp hating and turn the channel if you don't like what you see. of course you're entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean its right.

"The Simpsons hasn't been funny since the 90's."

Agreed.

The jokes in the simpsons used to be funny, intelligent and witty.

Now all they do is write sloppy story lines filled with un-intelligent jokes that are out of character, cheap shots at celebreties, completely thoughtless and senseless phrases from homer, and really... I could go on.

The characters personalities are so completely different from the first 5 or 6 seasons that they should have just started a new cartoon all together because its almost a completely different cartoon dressed up to look like the simpsons.

The reason it hasnt been canceled.. is simply because it IS the simpsons, it will only continue to go downhill and they will let it do so because they will make money from it no matter what.
