As if you needed a reason to play through the LocoRoco demo a few more times, Sony is offering rewards for completing it. The catch is, you need version 1.01 of the demo. The original demo does not provide the needed code on the stage clear screen.

To download the LocoRoco demo, simply visit the demo site from your PSP and follow the on-screen instructions. Additional instructions can be found on the U.S. PlayStation Portable site. One note, you will need an account to download the demo — something you can sign up for on your PSP.

For a limited time only (through August 19), Sony will be giving away special LocoRoco thank-you gifts to everyone who plays the 1.01 demo and successfully leads enough LocoRoco to the goal.

Once you’ve completed the demo level, a password will appear in the upper right corner of the final screen. By entering this password on the PlayStation site from your PC or from your PSP, you’ll be awarded a prize such as new sound files and exclusive wallpaper files. Your prizes will vary based on the LocoRoco you saved in the demo.

LocoRoco is scheduled to ship September 5, 2006 in the U.S. You can be sure that Blogcritics will have a review up for this promising game from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan.
