BC: At the recent Fangoria convention, you said you would not compromise the dark subject matter of the film with a PG-13 rating. Can you elaborate on this?

JG: Yeah, we have had plenty of offers to water down the material and cast a buncha stupid teeny boppers to draw in the WB crowd. So, who would you rather see? Bill Moseley or f*ckface from Smallville? Or how about everyone's favorite — Paris Hilton? As a fan, do you want PG-13 or R? Lets just say, the MPAA is going to have a blast with the material.

BC: Finally, which directors motivate or influence your directing side and why?

JG: All time favorite would be John Carpenter. I love his style. Carpenter's use of Panavision framing is brilliant. I have always loved that about his movies. Funny enough, his only film I didn't like was Village of the Damned. My current favorite director would have to be Eli Roth. He single-handedly revived horror and isnt afraid not to be politically correct like most filmmakers. It's a sad, sad day when a horror writer/director even knows the meaning of the word. He is getting a bunch of shit about being homophobic and what-not for using the term gay in Hostel. Well you know what — that is really gay! Thats how people talk for f*cks sakes — especially young people. But I digress…other directors that influence me? Dario Argento, Mario Bava, Wes Craven, Quentin Tarantino, Tobe Hooper, Dante Tomaselli, Lucio Fulci, Takashi Miike, George Romero, Steven Speilberg, Pete Jackson, Robert Rodriguez, David Cronenberg, Fernando Di Leo...to name a few. I am also digging Greg McLean and Alex Aja.
