Video blogging platform for World Cup fans
Users of TEAMtalk will have access to the video blogging application called coullvlogger. The application, which will be known as "TEAMtalk Vlogger" will allow users to put together text, stills and video from camcorders, mobile phones and other devices without the technical know-how usually required. TEAMtalk is hoping this will encourage such things as return visits during the World Cup and will allow them to build up a catalogue of user generated content.
End to net repression sought by Amnesty International
Amnesty International has launched a global campaign to stop state censorship on the internet. The human rights group has called for internet users worldwide to sign a petition that urges technology companies not to work with governments' efforts to censor. A new website, irrepressible.info is designed to describe the campaign and offer people ways to get involved.
Beastie Boys Documentary to be released as a DVD
The Beastie Boys documentary, "Awesome, I shot that", will be available as a DVD by THINKFilm on June 25th. The documentary was directed by Adam Yauch under his alias Nathanial Hornblower and features film shot at a Beastie Boys show in October of 2004 at Madison Square Garden. The footage was shot by audience members using hand-held digital cameras. The DVD will feature more than 2 hours of bonus footage including commentary tracks from all three Beastie Boys.
