Comic Review: DC Comics (Post Infinite Crisis) 52 Week 1
Published May 26, 2006
The remaining two characters appear to have intertwining lives. You won't really discover why The Question and former officer Renee Montoya are connected, but with The Question, I have no doubt it will be dull. I have to note that Montoya is not a superheroine. I believe I recognize the name, but why she gets to be one of the five people who are part of this weekly series, I do not know as of yet. All I know is 1) she's a drunk and 2) she's a hero that us non-super folk can relate to. Maybe she's from some Gotham City miniseries that I never read, but hopefully the writers have made the right decision in including her in this series instead of a more popular character.
None of these five are high on the popularity chart in the ranks of superheroes, so to make someone pick up 52, and with some of the creative talent behind Infinite Crisis, I have faith in their ability to make even the most obscure characters relevant. I will be reading the next week's issue of 52, if only to see if this story has any legs, not because this inaugural issue was mind-blowingly brilliant.

Um, thank you? I'm not completely aware of the specifics of that.
VS, we share selected stories with the Advance family of newspaper-affiliated sites. It's good additional exposure!
It's cool. I got the clarification while reading from the yahoo group.
Montoya is a detective from Gotham City. After Commish Gordon was out of the picture, she was one of the few cops alive who wasn't ready to shoot Batman on sight.
Thanks for the info. I'm most likely wrong, but wasn't Montoya also featured in later seasons of Batman The Animated Series (or The Adventures of Batman and Robin)?
