CW is one of the worst ideas they could have ever came up with. They are canceling our best black shows like Half and Half, EVE, cuts etc. And now NO TONI. Her charachter had the most drama. I wanted to see her raise her child and everything. They should have just kept everything the same.

Girlfriends is the one show one could count on to provide a honest look at relationships between black women. Please don't mess with this show especially Toni. Her unique craziness was a real show stopper and for most of us "home". Her family provided a look into what's driving us and making us the black women we are. We deserve the best that you have to offer in this show as we have been faithful for the last 6 years.

I am also upset about losing my other Monday night shows. How dare you take away the one night we could relax, see ourselves in different lights and laugh about it?

I would just like to start of by saying that this merge of networks is a load of crap! It makes no sense to me that the network execs would actually believe this was a good idea for its viewers. I have been a loyal viewer for years. I have grown used to watching my Mon, Wed, and Thurs nite UPN. I have been devoted to watching all of my shows on there. I am outraged that this is happening!
After all of my dedication-I have the shows record when I'm not home and I stay up all nite to make sure I watch them. I don't watch American Idol or any other of those shows that make huge ratings through the week because my eyes were glued to my UPN shows, esp. Eve, One On One, and Girlfriends. And to hear that my week is ruined because of this mess is ridiculous. And Toni is my favorite of all time on Girlfriends. This is one big old mess! How dare UPN let her go! And to add insult to injury, All of Us has the nerve to be picked back up? I could just puke all over the place. I can't believe THAT show has another chance over the other successful shows that were broadcast on UPN. It makes me sick to think that UPN would sell out the shows that made it and all it stood for for some damn money by merging with a network that wants to kick a weeks worth of shows into 1 damn night, a night in which I will mention, I WILL NOT WATCH! I am so upset about the merger of the WB and UPN. There will be nothing left on TV. I am so sorry to see Girlfriends change this way. Like many people that have posted messages, it was my favorite show also. I loved all of the characters because they are all different and they accepted one another. The show truly showed afro-american women and men in a positive light. It showed that we do not just have Attitudes and fight all the time and that we do have careers and feelings and dreams and ambitions. I cannot say enough how saddened I am to see the disgusting, vulgar, disrespectful things that were written here about Jill Marie Jones. she is a wonderful actress, and yes she brought alot of talent and variety to the show. The fact that those sexually charged comments were made is sickening. It is very sickening because I know they were written by men of color. I cannot express how sad I am about that. I think that the people that wrote those things should come back on here and apologize to Ms. Jones. If you are really a fan don't you think that she would be hurt by the things said? I am sure that Ms. Jones became an actress for the love of the art not so that people will look at her body and make crude comments. I am very disappointed to see that Toni (Jill Marie Jones) has left the show. As others have stated, all the women protrayed a sense of having something different to the show. These women showed black women that we are different but we strive to have the best. I love this show. I think with Jones gone, it will lose some of it's ratings. The others are good, but the four were a package. The show needs to continue to illustrate what the package begin with. As it demonstrates the ups and downs in being in friendships and relationships it should continue to show how friendships can bounce back. Please re-evaluate your casting for this show. Another thought, the change in schedule was a definitely wrong choice.......I really think you will lose many ratings for this network. Bad collobaration.

The CBS Corporation announced today that, in response to the outrage viewers expressed upon learning of Jill Marie Jones' possible departure from Girlfriends, the show will be moved to the CBS television network.

Reportedly, the Girlfriends cast members were informed earlier this year that the show's budget would have to be cut in order for the show to be picked up by rookie network The CW in the fall. The CW is a new television network set to debut in the fall of 2006, which will feature programming from both UPN and the WB.

The four stars of the show, Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jones, alledgedly agreed that they would stand together and refuse the network's lowball offer. A report from mediatakeout.com claims that the other three actresses cracked under pressure from the network, but Jones held firm, eventually declining to return for the show's seventh season.

A spokesperson for the CBS corporation says, "The fans of the show [Girlfriends] have rallied in support of the show and shown great admiration for the actresses who portray the girlfriends." In response to an outpouring of criticism from fans across the nation, the CBS corporation will attempt to secure more advertising dollars per thirty-second ad in hopes of maintaining current salaries for the actresses, and possibly raising their salaries in the future.

Girlfriends will be one of few African-American programs to air on a major television network since the establishment of UPN and The WB in 1995.

Girlfriends and Half and Half were the only shows I watched on the UPN Network. With "Toni " leaving it just upsets the groups dynamics. Most of the African-American based shows have been dunped by the merger of upn/wb.The only good thing is the bought to the cw is "Smallville" and "Supernatural". Was there talk of "Girlfriends" going to cbs.

Girlfriends is gone....TONI CHILDS was the main reason I liked that show. I love Girlfriends. It is one of the few positive black shows we have now. Toni was my girl!! She was shallow, but real. She always knew what to say, and no matter how bitchy it sounded, it was usually true. This show will not stand on this new white network without this shinning star. What the hell were they thinking? And where the he IS a Girlfriends DVD collection? Most long running shows on all of the other networks have DVD collections, why not Girlfriends? I am upset and very disappointed.

I also can't believe Toni is leaving. I would must rather sacrificing Lynn. HEr storyline is getting old with her still trying to find herself. I'm very sad to see Toni exit what used to be my favorite show on TV. I watched it from the very beginning, told all my friends about it, and was able to persuade my friends to switch from Aly McBeal (which was on another network at the same time)to 'Girlfriends' instead. I even got my husband to watch it with me each week. Now, I think Girlfriends' plots have become stale. After 6 years, I look forward to this being the last season. I'll miss Eve more....

"Girlfriends" has great potential and Jill Marie Jones's character underlies this potential. Besides her wit, timing, and presence, Jill's character on the show is important because she is evolving and growing (e.g., entreprenuer, single mom, growing apart from her best and longest held friend, while growing closer to Lynn and Maya.) Perhaps this provides a natural opening for Maya's character to further evolve and mature (without losing her edge.) Character growth on a sitcom is a feat rarely seen on modern sitcoms but the writers and actresses on this show have begun to achieve this growth while maintaining the humor. This combination ultimately makes the show more appealing and ripe for longevity. Please do not allow this journey to end allowing Jill to move on prematurely. Her departure will severely blunt if not derail the show's trajectory.

WITHOUT TONY CHILDS, THE SHOW WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME. FIND A WAY TO GET HER BACK OR ELSE THE SHOW WILL BE BOYCOTTED.

With school starting back this was definite the best Monday night RR for me. I will miss your role and I definite will not be watching. Petitions aren't going to work. For one, this decision has already happened long before any of us found out about it. Two, Mara Brock Akil already spoke of this situation while at a press conference for the CW (although briefly).

I really like Toni Childs. Girlfriends wont be the same without her. I dont know if the show will be as good without her. In my opion Toni was one of the ones who made the show. She has got to come back.

I never had any interest in watching TV, until I happened to see an episode of "Girlfriends" and I was hooked. The thing that I was most worried about was that the show will one day go off the air, and it terrifies me that I wont know how to deal with it when the time comes. Stop it with all this nonsense about Lynn and Reggie! I love Girlfriends and I'm a faith watcher but all of them is what make the show good. First off I want to say- the fastest way to get rid of a show is to change it's air time, and day! So they did this- by changing the entire day, now that's one big problem! You guys must be tripping on some very bad weed, otherwise why in the world would you wanna mess with the chemistry of characters on "Girlfriends". This show is the only reason that I have a date with my TV on Mondays, and now you people wanna take that away from me.
I love "Toni Child" as portrayed by JIll Marie Jones. No replacements will do. Jill made that character real. "Toni Child" is a bitch, self centered, egotistic and real. And I love her.

I've just recently began watching Girlfriends through late night reruns, and I am hooked! I don't want to see this show cancelled, so I will continue to watch it. I don't feel like boycotting the show in it's entirety is the answer here. How many of you have written letters to CW? That's what we need to do! This network merger sounds like a load of bull to me, and I'm amazed to hear that this will be a cable channel. I hadn't heard that before reading it on the site tonight. I hope CBS does pick up Girlfriends, and that Jill Marie Jones will come back when that happens. Time will tell.

The worst thing they could have ever done was to cancel Half and Half and take lose Jill Marie Jones. Tracee Ross or any of the others can carry that show. That show needs Jill and all of her DIVAtude! Bring by Jill or just cancel the show.

Please, please bring back Toni childs, Jill Marie Jones. She was key to bringing the interest and drama to the show. No this does not work with a new actress! You can't wait until the 6th season and think you will find that chemistry with the audience again! Jill marie jones brought excitement and passion to that part. Bad move if you don't bring her back! I don't know if this means anything but I just found an article on AOL and their saying that the new season of girlfriends will be focused on Toni and Todd's custody battle. There's still hope also Jill's names is mentioned in the cast!

Coming from one diva to the next Toni Childs is "Girlfriends"! She is the only one that can curse Joan out and whoop her ass and they still go to church and be friends in the morning. Now that is a real girlfriend. She is a reality check for Maya, Lynn and Joan and the show will not seem real without her!

Jill leaving Girlfriends is bull and the beginning of the end for the show. UPN and WB were supposed to be merging but the merge doesn't seem quite equal. Now they're moving the Monday night mainstays to Sunday. I will not be watching the new network in part to support my girl Jill and in part to support all black programs. I hope the show can be spared and saved by a major network. None of the major networks have a black show which I think is really dumb since black shows have always done great in the past. I also think it is bull that Half and Half was cancelled. Those WB shows are lame and whitebread!!

I am very disgusted at the joining of the networks. I was so used to watching all the shows on the designated nights, now the little bit of shows they do have all comes on Sunday. Jill Marie (Toni) made girlfriends, sure we loved watching Maya and Darnell raise their son jebari, balance their careers etc. (Black Family). Sure we loved seeing Joan go through her motions yet she was so sucsessful as a black woman. and Ofcourse Lynn, we all love lynn's liberal character BUT it was Toni who was igotistical, Nurotic, Arrogant, As ass at time, Self centered BUT we loved it...and after her having her child, being a black single mom on TV was inspiring to so many out there. Girlfriends is one of the most comical, close to reality show I have ever watched. Cancelling this show would be a very bad idea.

"Girlfriends" will not be the same without Jill Marie Jones; This show was the African-American version of "Sex and the City", I used to rush home and watch it and my girlfriends and myself would be on the phone discussing it. It's upsetting to know that people that you work with that are suppposed to be your friends could do this to her. When the show 1st began it was based around Ms Ross (Joan) but I guess the writers saw what a snooze that was and change it up. Ms Jones will be truely missed as everyone one has said that show will not be the same without her. I wish her nothing but the best for her upcoming projects.

I used to schedule my work around the UPN shows because that's all we had. It is a big mistake to get rid of Jill Marie Jones. Girlfriends was a great show. I wish they would have gotten rid of Golden Brooks instead. And they really need to bring back Half and Half that is a great show.

I'm really, really disappointed "Girlfriends" is returning without Jill Marie Jones. I guess I have been out of loop, thinking that all the black-based shows from the former UPN were canceled and this new network, CW, would continue with all the WB's shows. Jones, as Toni Childs, definitely will be missed. Her character provided some of the best, creative tension and drama for the show. I think I would've preferred if all cast members didn't return and the actors with a raise in pay with their contracts, then the show, Girlfriends should have been canceled altogether.

I am further disappointed and upset that all the black sitcoms are situated on Sundays, a poor placement for all the shows, there by, a set-up by the CW for failure.

I agree will everyone. Especially the fans of Jill/Toni. I didn't watch the show in the beginning because I thought that they were all trying too hard to act like Sistahs. Then a friend convinced me to give the show another try and specifically referenced Toni. She is the funniest of them all. I love her character and just the thought of some of her fights with her now ex makes me laugh.

I love the show GIRLFRIENDS!! My cousins and I used to sit and watch it every Monday. We all decided which characters we are , and I was Toni. I'm mad because I just found out that they really cancelled the UPN line up. I didn't know about the whole merger til i read this blog. I knew there was a new show on UPN or whatever the station is now called Fashion House and Desire, but I thought they were mini-series' and would be off the air by the time the Fall line up started. I have really enjoyed watching the show. Toni was my favorite character it will not be the same without her. I hope some way she returns but if this is the last session for Girlfriends I do not think she will. This really is disgusting! I really do think we need to boycott the network on October 1st!. As much as I LOVE Girlfriends, we need to take a stand. How is it that an entire evening line-ups of decent African American shows can be eliminated? At the risk of sounding a little extreme (particularly for an entertainment blog), I have to say I honestly see that as people of color, we are losing our footing in this country. It becomes complicated because you want to support shows featuring African American actors but at the same time, why support a network that couldn't care less about you?!

We'll see how long this lasts... After all, our "little" line-up airs on Sundays -- that special slot reserved for shows on the verge of cancellation. We all realize that Sundays nights are like "The Land of Misfits" for sitcoms! Hmm...I guess we were just an afterthought.

Oh, and as for Jill Marie Jones leaving Girlfriends... It really ruins the entire dynamic of the show. Each character brought something different to the table. Jill's character was very strong and was one of the roles that helped carry the show. Without Tony's sass, wit, drama and humor, the show loses its balance. I can't imagine it having the same energy that kept us coming back for more, anyway.

To answer your question, Matthew..the more i read things around the Net, the less inclined i was to write to the networks or to go to start a petition. From everything i've been reading for a while now, this is definitely a done deal. Even if they were able to lure Jill back with more money, the chemistry on the show would never be the same due to the way the other girls stabbed her in the back. The public already knows what went down, so the relationships wouldn't feel authentic.

I'm going to watch the first show for a few minutes to watch them look stupid as they try to explain away the best character the show had, but that's it. I'm done with "Girlfriends". I'm also not happy with Mara Brock Akil, or Tracee Ellis Ross either, for that matter. IMO, the producers and the other girls on that show didn't show Jill or their audience much respect. Why would you NOT pay one of the main actresses you built your cliffhanger around accordingly???

Someone mentioned earlier the precarious situation regarding supporting Black shows vs. supporting a network that clearly wants to see these Black shows fail. I am not watching ANYTHING on the CW. I would love to see an organized movement to boycott the CW. While i'm aware that shows have contracts, shows are also picked up or cancelled based on the ratings. I think Chris Rock, Will & Jada, and Tyra all have enough juice to shop and sell their shows to other networks in the event that WE decide to boycott CW. I also think the other networks wouldn't have a problem picking these shows up after being cancelled by CW..especially if the boycott was publicized and maintained.

I'm not one of those who cries 'racism' at every turn, but the CW's show choices and scheduling show a crystal-clear motive regarding their Black shows. A blind man can see that.

I can't believe that this has happended to Girlfriends. From what I understand it was one of the top rated shows on UPN. So for the merger to result in them getting pay cuts is an insult to all actors, actresses and, producers. If the rumors are true. I have to respect Jill Marie Jones' decision to leave. I LOVE Girlfriends. Toni's character was a key element to the show. All characters combined made the show. Losing anyone of them, for me, would have resulted in the same disappointment. No character is alike and they balanced each other well. Then adding insult to injury they put the show up against Desperate Housewives. As much as I hate to admit it but, I don't think the show can survive that; especially after losing such a key character. It's like Friends with no Joey or Sex & the City with no Samantha. It's just incomplete. Why do you think the Sex & the City movie never came out? It's not saying one character made the show but the show is made of ALL characters. Look at the show New York Undercover. When they refused to give one of the main actors a raise the show didn't last much longer after that. I just wasn't a smart move. If you look at the success of Friends, they all ended up making millions per episode. They stuck together the show ended on a good note. I hope they can negotiate a deal before the end of the season. The show just won't be the same. The network won't know what it had until it's gone!

Lynn can only get so freaky to keep us interested and JOAN, OMIGOD, i can't stand her character. she is soooo phony!!! how many times can we see her dive head first into a relationship and fuck it up!!! watch eve on tv one. black people you will have to buy your own , then put it on the air, dont cry for the white man crumbs, watch girlfriends or watch, sunday night football, theres plenty of blacks there, jill marie jones will be just fine. life goes on!

I think that this is when we need our "Black Television Network" a.k.a. "BET" to step in to buy out our black shows that does not "fit the demographics" that "CW" is looking for in their network. Why should we let good shows and characters lose their Monday Night Block for a Sunday for those rinky-dink boring shows they have through out the week! During the week, I will be tuning in to my Grey's Anatomy and CSI shows. That is about it. I disagree with letting Half and Half go and Toni Child's because she helps make the show what it is who will everyone have to say shut up too with out her. CW is crappy! I will just tune into the Sex in the City reruns at midnight.

Girlfriends is one the best shows on TV. I was so excited to find out Girlfriends was coming back, because it was rumored that the show had been cancelled. Then I find out the Jill Marie Jones is not returning. What was the network thinking? The show does not work without Jill. They are going to lose a lot of viewers. I will watch the first few shows just to see what the network has come up with, but I highly doubt the show will last through the season without Jill. She was the heart of the show. The girl you hated and loved. The women you secretly wanted to be. Not to take anything from the other women, because they all bring something special to the show. However, Jill is my favoriate by far. It looks like I will be saying bye to the show anyway. It will not be the same without Jill. At least I can catch the reruns.

While I too am sad to see Jill Marie Jones leave the show,I still think that it is extremely important for us to support the show.If we don't we're only doing what what they want, and that's to see black shows go down and get low ratings so they'll have an excuse to cancel them all together. I don't know about ya'll but to me some black shows are better than none at all. I just think that it is so unjust that when it comes to black entertainment, there's always an issue when it comes to money. Shows like Will & Grace, Friends, and even Seinfield, never had issues with leaving their show over money because they all left their shows making 1 million an episode! Even though NBC is an larger network than upn or this new CW, look at their shows like Charm, Gilmore Girls, and even 7th Heaven, those shows been on longer than Girlfriends, and yet they still have all their original charactes and I'm pretty sure ya'll know why.....because they get what they want when it comes to money! I understand Jill departing because of the fact that she didn't get the raise she felt she deserved, however maybe she should had been alil more humble. Black people have to be more humble in this country to be succeesful. It also just goes to show that no matter how successful we become and how talented we are, we're going still be treated unfairly and get underpaid, just because of the mere color of our skin. And that's reailty.

Why did they do this. the show is going to be stupid now

For a long time I didn't watch Girlfriends because after Living Single went off the air I didn't want to get attached to another show like that, but eventually I did. Tony (played by Jill M. Jones) was my favorite character. When me and my girlfriends get together and talk about the show, Tony's character is the one we speak on the most. She is "us" thru and thru. We also like the Lynn (deadbeat friend) and Mya (ghetto girl living large) characters as well. Joan's character (played by Tracy Ross) is the one character we could do without. She's scattered brained and that's suppose to be Lynn's role. If Joan was the one leaving the show, I'm sure there would be some unhappy fans, however, had they done a survey of the favorite characters on the show, I believe the two favorites would be Tony and Mya.

It was bad enough the network changed, so that's the first sign that we are looking at the last season(s) of Girlfriends, but not having Tony's character to look forward to will definately lead to the demise of this program.

Tony's character speaks her mind, she wants the best for herself, and goes after it. Her story line of being married, divorce the custody case, her career, is the most enticing story line of all the characters. You take away Tony, you take away the show.

Unless Tony's character remains and is continued to be played by (Jill M. Jones) I won't be watching it anymore. I don't know what's behind all this mess, but I truly hope this show is not suffering because Tracy Ross (Diana's daughter) is supposed to be the star character. This show was a combined effort of 4 women and a man and out of all of them the one to leave is the one we'd rather see more of.

I'll be looking for Jill M. Jones to see where she ends up next. I will follow her to her next show, but Girlfriends is off my list of programs to watch this fall.

Seriously, I'm stunned. I heard a rumor, thought it was just that a rumor, but it appears it's not. Toni's not coming back. Girlfriends is going the way of Designing Women, when they lost Delta Burke. I'm sticking to the BET re-runs from now on.
Toni was the only character I really related to and ejoyed watching. She was flawed, she knew it, she accepted it and she flaunted it. Who do we have to relate to now? Neurotic joan? Bitter Maya? Brilliantly Stupid Lynn?

the main reason i'm upset that toni childs will not be seen ever again on girlfriends and that the show half&half has been cancelled is that both shows gave us diverse black female characters that spoke of our diversity. we'll probably never see that again. such a shame. really wish jill marie jones had decided to stay on the show.

With the consolidation of UPN and The WB networks, Girlfriends will now air on the newly created CW Network on Sunday nights. At press time, the cast will not include Jill Marie Jones, who played Joan's self-absorbed best friend, Toni Childs ( Jones refused to comment for this story.) It should be said here that Tracee attempts to mightily to remain professional and appropriate when discussing her costar's departure.

"In order for the show to come back, the cast was not going to get the huge raises we dreamed of." Tracee takes a long breath. In my opinion Toni leaving the show won't kill it. Airing on Sunday night might. Lets support the show because it is not about one person as it employs so many more and offers a lot of entertainment for me an countless others.

Personally, I don't think she will come out about the situation. Considering this could be the last season, I don't think anyone will come out about it.

I'm disappointed as well regarding Toni's departure. However, we can be spending our valuable time addressing the right people about this. I'll check out the URL posted earlier regarding where to our address our concerns. Girlfriends is my favorite sitcom and I love all of the characters. Toni always thought on her feet with solutions to help her sistas out. I agree that I would like to hear Ms. Jones' side but it's quite obvious. Like her character, she knows her worth and won't settle. It's a conspiracy - Girlfriends on the same time as Desparate Housewives??? I hope that BET or TVOne will step in & they don't have to worry about the ratings crap if that's the way it works. I paid for cable when Soul Food was on & I'll pay for it if Girlfriends is picked up by a cable station. Hopefully it won't experience whatever problems Soul Food was having. I realize TV must evolve and if Girlfriends isn't all it's cracked up to be, I'll eventually find something else. I hear there's a show w/ Tia Mowry & Wenda Robinson. Maybe that will take its place. We must support our shows or let the higher-ups know why we aren't watching - not just a blog - b/c that just gives them a reason to take something else away from us.

Actually, you won't be able to get TV One or BET to do anything. They are not interested in making sitcoms or dramas because they cost too much money, hence why there's always reality shows on both channels.

first of all let me say, that Half and Half is hardly funny. Eve is bland, and All of Us isn't that great either. I seldom watched any of the UPN orginal comedies, and when I did, Girlfriends and Everybody Hates Chris were the only ones I watched. People, television is a business, and the ugly truth is that a repeat of Law and Order could garner better ratings that UPN's entire, four show, Monday night line up. I've heard this argument before about how I'm supposed to be upset because the advent of CW will mean fewer Black oriented sit-coms, but if said Black sitcoms aren't any good, than what's the point? These are the same people who thought that I should be proud that Three Six Mafia won an Oscar because they too were Black. In fact one of them wasn't just black, he went by the name "Crunchy Black." NBC didn't keep the Cosby Show on the air because it was a Black comedy, they kept in on the air because it was highly rated comedy. And Everybody Hates Chris isn't just a black comedy, it's a smartly written comedy, just like Bernie Mack was. Black people need to stop excepting mediocrity, just because it features people who look like them.

I can see that alot of people are going through an identity crisis ! For people to actually look up to an fictional character to inspire their style and who they are is pretty sad. Everyone is unique and should find out who they're really are before trying to imitate someone else.

I told people last year... Girlfriends is on the way out. The writing was really getting stale to me, but I won't get into that...

Bottom line, this show cannot survive without Jill Marie Jones. I respect Jill for standing up for what she believed in. The CW will eventually dump all of the Black shows... the only one that will stick around for a little while is "Everbody Hates Chris". Black shows don't really fit into the new CW (Corny White) network.

I'm sure good, Black shows would fit into the CW line up just fine. Key word being "good". Take for example, Grey's Anatomy. That show was produced by, Shonda Rhimes, a Black woman and has lots of minority cast memebers. I'm certain that Shona didn't say to herself, let me create a "Black doctor show" for ABC. She probably set out to create a quality medical drama featuring minority characters that appealed to the masses, and we're all better for it. I don't know about you, but I'm personally tired of mediocre comedies supposedly representing "my racial demographic" on network tv, anyway. If Girlfriends isn't good anymore because of the loss of Jill Marie, than whatever. Maybe the loss of that show will inspire someone else to create something better.

I don't believe that there is any prejudicial undertones to the actions of the new CW network. The core understanding is the "NEW". This network is off to a monumentally rocky start. Although it's supposed to be a combination of the former UPN and WB networks, noone even knows what "CW" stands for. They have had one of the worst network launches to date. Jill Marie may have done herself a huge favor by walking away from that disaster early in the game.

The world stops for me when this show is on. I usually emulate no one but the friendship these girls share is one to be envied. Without Jill, the concept has changed and it makes people realise that "Girlfriends" is only just a show. What I loved about "Girlfriends" is that I always forgot it was "just a show" it felt real, like we were all friends...and now...well it doesn't. I wish she would come back so I can have my friends back.

This is completely off topic but I need an answer to a question regarding music that was played on Girlfriends quite some time ago. It was during a scene with Joan and some guy, I believe they were breaking up. Anyway I was turning the channel and the song is what initially caught my attention, it was perfect for the scene. I believe the artist singing the song was Terrence Trent D'Arby AKA Sananda Maitreya but I'm not certain. I figure if anyone can help me, you guys would be it, :). I'm so upset she's not on the show anymore. She was my favorite character on the show. I'm still watching the show, but the chemistry is not the same. I want back my toni...!!
I hate to say this but after this the show isn't going to last longer on the air.

Taking Toni off the show actually will cut the life of the show. I pray that another network takes over the show and bring her back. I love all the women together. I will enjoy watching the re-runs on BET every Saturday night. The show doesn't even have its appeal any longer based on what I saw Sunday.
