Not to discount the DUI, she's an actress. I hated her at first in "Lost," but in the episode of 5/3, when she was given a more human side to show, I began to empathize with the character of Ana Lucia. I was upset that she was killed off at the end of that episode!

I giggled when I saw this story and the "To Catch a Predator" ad right next to it.

Carry on, grown ups.

How many Latin "tough girl" roles does Hollywood need? Maybe I can slap on a fake tan and get some tattoos and make me some tough girl flicks and sit back and watch the dough roll in.

Why on earth do people defend these criminals? Just because some one is famous doesn't make them better than the rest of us. Good Lord.

not speaking for Dawn here -- she had to take the little lad to the doctor -- I believe it's her attitude that Dawn objects to. That and the second DUI thing - she should probably get hold of that problem.

Dawn, so does this mean Michelle's lower on your shitlist than Mr. Cruise?

Anyway, I agree with Roger, if you're just going to some low-security jail, it's an easy call. If Martha Stewart can do it, why not anyone else?

Although I'd wouldn't bet M-Rod's career will be gone as soon as you think--- there aren't a lot of Latin actresses better known for the 'tough girl' role than her. She certainly better than J.Lo did in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0278435/">'Enough'</a>

Given the increase of Latin TV viewers and moviegoers in the U.S., I think MR's only downfall as an actress could be if her rep on-set is known as difficult. The work will only be increasing otherwise, in my humble opinion.

Five days of reading over 30 days of work. Sounds like an easy call even outside of Hollywood.

Maybe the celebrities wouldn't feel so important if their every move wasn't covered in tabloids and blogs. You're either part of the solution or part of the problem.

I'd probably take the jailtime too, probably becuase I'm a selfish jerk. The sentence was reduced to 4 days in jail instead of the 5 or 6 weeks it would have taken to put in the 240hrs. That's like taking a long all expense weekend instead of working for five weeks. As an added bonus you get a lifetime to brag about your tough times in the slammer!

The bad news: no chance at a job as a pizza delivery driver when her career goes south.

another "celebrity" who doesn't get that she's just a disposable part in hollywood's machine...we'll see her in "the surreal world" in 2 seasons...and then in a where is she now feature 5 years later when she's doing dinner theater in the rust belt.

I've never seen this show, barely know who this actress is, so I don't really care, but I'll bet if she did do the community service there'd be complaints that she got off easy because of her celebrity status. Damned if you don, damned if you don't.
