Tool's First Single, "Vicarious," Leaked
Published April 15, 2006
It was only a matter of time, but according to Fourtheye.net and The Tool Hotline, "Vicarious," the first single from the new Tool album 10,000 Days has leaked onto the internet days ahead of its debut.
A 30 second clip of the song was aired on radio station 105.9 The X. Soon after, the entire song was leaked after the FTP server used to distribute the song to radio stations was left unattended. Since then, eager Tool fans have been crawling all over this one.
While there are still fakes out there (anyone with a song that is only 2:46 in length - you've been duped), the song has been posted on various message boards and even found its way onto myspace.com.
"Vicarious" is the first single off the new Tool album 10,000 Days which is being released in the U.S on May 2, Australia on April 29 and May 1 in the UK.
10,000 Days currently sits at #1 on the Amazon.com Sales Rank.
UPDATE
The album has now been linked too.

Hello my friend, thanx for that great news and article about TOOL, i am a cyclist and i use Tool for my bikeriding training, and also for my meditation, to increase the will to power :-)
By the way is your imsomnia related to too little carbs in your diet? take care
Glorious 5/4. That's the Tool I've come to know and love.

too many carbs... too much coca cola.
If you don't like this song you need to... Well you can take a hint!
I've received a lot of email asking me where you can find this song! I'm not going to post it here but you can find it all over the net. Check out the links provided and work your way from there!
holy crap! that song kicks so much ass!!! I CANT WAIT FOR THE ALBUM!!! AHHHH!
the whole album leaked.
look on the scene, its there spreading like wildfire. everyone i know is getting it. i have it in two different formats, so that means two people leaked it.
where did ya get the leak from
Support TOOL and their efforts! BUY the CD when it comes out!
you support the band by seeing them live. not by buying their cd.
So not true seaniqua... A band as bada-- as Tool deserves to have massive record sales especially from people who claim to be fans
omg i hop this is not the real tool album
vicarious... Very good song, not the best of all tool songs, but very good. Almost always the first single isn't the best(as schism with lateralus), so well have to wait for the album...surely will be amazing!!!
no way the leak is the same thing customers will be getting in stores come may 2nd.
Yea sure... almost all the fucking songs without Maynards voice and horrible drums... na its all fake shit!
THINK... without maynards voice!!!! how can you all guys believe that??? its just stupid. Vicarious... with voice, all the oth erones, without..
BULLSHIT!
Having been a Tool fan for 5 years, I am looking foward to this new album. Tool always find a way to create new and unique soundscapes within each of their albums. The new single is another creative song that I have come to expect from the band. In today's day and age, many people choose to get their music for free. I strongly reccomend purchasing Tool's new album when it comes in stores simply because of the immense effort they put into recording each album.
I like it
it's real, you must have downloaded the wrong files.. lol.. but I think there is more coming out, and that these tracks may just be a clever decoy/marketing scheme.
If so, that would be fn hilarious.
