TV Review: The Colbert Report - Michael Brown

Check and mate! Mr. Leiber wisely apologized.

The actual guest last night was former FEMA director Michael Brown. By the way, I don't like two guests on the show, it is getting confusing. The first question asked by Stephen was "Why should we forgive you?" Mr. Browns response was, "I did everything I could."

Yeah that was all fine and dandy. But am I the only one who feels the name Michael Brown may be a fake name? It doesn't seem too original, does it? What if he was secretly behind other disasters such as the Watergate Scandal and the failed rescue attempt of the Iran hostage crisis? Then to save his name he discarded it and took up this one. Two and two doesn't seem to make four with this man. Why didn't he defend Bush when Kanye West accused him of hating blacks? After all it seems Mr. Brown, if that is his real name, would never had failed at being the head of FEMA if it had not been for Bush appointing him for the job in the first place. Think about it, it makes sense, and I am in no way saying President Bush knew of this at all, so don't blame him.

Question for Stephen

What brand of battery do you trust in your electric toothbrush to keep your teeth pearly white?

I am your everyday 17 year old. Between my attempts of world domination, I enjoy music, playing both the guitar and bass but not the bass guitar. When I am not watching Stephen Colbert I am watching the Detroit Red Wings…or coloring in my coloring books.

I am glad you write about this show. I feel horrible about not being able to watch it. But really, who needs to when they can read your series, right?

That is where you and I differ. There is no chance in me completely giving this show justice, however you can see most of the segments on line at
comedy central

you can also get a more strict to the script recap at

the official website

Good write up.

So Russ Leiber is David Cross the comedian right?

I'm starting to wonder why anyone would voluntarily go on colbert's show because there's no way they can leave with their dignity intact.

Thanks for the good write complement, I am very pleased on how this one came out and I actually emailed it to the Colbert nation website in hope to get some of my writing on the show.

However if I were comparing Leiber to any celebrity with the name David it would have to be David Spade. He has played the weak almost pathetic character sense our beloved Chris Farley has departed from us. How ever even though I make fun of almost all the guest Leiber is the only one I feel like I actually dislike. It is not even his view on issues; he takes forever to get to a point. He looses my attention, but he is a brave man for coming back to the report even though Stephen killed him the first time.

Guest could come on and not be destroyed by Stephen but they would have to agree to everything he said and that would get them in trouble over whatever they do.
