NBA: "Starbury" Begins To Burn Out The Knicks
Published March 15, 2006
So the New York Knicks have the worst record in the entire National Basketball Association. What else is new? The only true thing different is that Stephon Marbury has been playing "Larry Brown" basketball now. Well that's going to change according to Stephon, a.k.a. "Starbury."
Recently Starbury spoke out saying he is going to let loose and play the way he knows how. He thinks that following the path of a soon to be Hall Of Fame head coach is not the right direction. I have a simple question for Starbury: "What have you ever won?""
The only thing I remember from Starbury's "winning" days is that running floater he hit against the Spurs in the playoffs. That was a great "clutch" shot, and probably his only great "clutch" shot. Starbury has never won a playoff series, and Larry Brown has won championship rings.
It has come to the point where Stephon Marbury needs to go. I do not care if we trade him away for nothing, his poor demeanor and cancerous personality is nothing but a detriment to the New York Knicks franchise. Once Stephon is taken out of the equation, and a Larry Brown point guard is brought in to replace him, the Knicks will finally start to flourish. There is no reason why a solid point guard couldn't feed Eddy Curry and Channing Frye all day.

I agree with Dan. The knicks don't have the cast to lead them to wins right now. They do have alot of talent and promise, but even one of the brightest prospects Nate Robinson is too inexperienced to lead this team. The only thing Marbury is guilty of, is shooting of his mouth. He's a very good player who puts up solid numbers. Brown had the same problem with Iverson and eventually Iverson learned the system, the team started winning and everyone was happy. As far as putting a "Larry Brown" gaurd in front of Frye and Curry...I respect both players a great deal, I love Frye's talent. But, Frye does not have the experience yet and Curry does not have the chops. In time I'm sure this team will make a few changes and learn to play together. And then, just maybe Knick fans can remove the brown paper bags from over their heads.
Brown is an over-rated coach, and Marbury is an over-rated point guard.
Put them together, and you have an under-achieving team.

AJ,
I visited your site and like it a lot. The video blog stuff is cool.
To be fair to Marbury, it's not all his fault that his teams have never won. The Twolves team at that time considered KG a third option. He wasn't the the KG he is today, and they still don't win.
The Nets had Kenyon Martin and Richard Jefferson with Steph before they were major contributers as well.
The Suns weren't developed either.
Granted, they the Nets and Suns did get better with new point guards, but Kidd and Nash are the two best in the NBA.
Marbury can play, but his supporting cast is a joke with the Knicks.
