What happens when you mix the power of Myspace.com with Scarface and an American Idol-like competition? Well we will all found out as Vivendi Universal Games is running a contest on Myspace.com looking for the next hot video game musical star. And this contest will be very important to the lucky artist or band on Myspace.com that gathers enough votes to win. The winner will be featured in the upcoming game Scarface: The World Is Yours. And as we have seen with other video game like Madden, having your song on the soundtrack is a sure fire ticket to fame.

"There is no question that music continues to play a pivotal role in video games and video games continue to play a pivotal role in promoting new artists to a wide audience," said Cindy Cook to the press. She is the Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer for VU Games.

To enter this contest you must have a Music.myspace.com profile that includes music tracks and your artist/band bio. Then you need to get your fans to nominate you. The best 200 artists nominated by the MySpace community by the cutoff date of March 7th will have their music heard by a panel of music and video game industry judges, who will determine the final 20. Then March 20th, one track from each finalist will be posted on the Scarface MySpace and fans will have to vote again to pick the winner. The artist or band with the most votes by March 28th will be featured in the video game.

So if your an up and coming artist or band then you need to jump on this contest and get out and promote and get your online fans to vote. The winner will not only get their song featured in the video game they will also be the opening act for major talent during this years E3.

So spice up your Myspace.com Artist page and good luck.
