TV Review: Live Blogging '24' Season Premiere

"You shut out Palmer."
It's not like they couldn't check THESE phone records a lot easier then year-old records. Logan. Still focused on the Russian president and his glory. Twisting in the wind. Twisting in the wind. Can anyone say disengaged from reality? Designing Women?
Mrs. Logan is having another one of her delusions. Logan is a very stupid man.
break .... 7:44: 52 ...
You'd think Logan, if he had a full load NOT in his diapers, would have some kind of intuition beyond his own glory.
scene...
Chloe and Jack meet up, with Derek in tow. Did I mention Jack stole a helicopter from wherever he was to get to that abandoned oil well. By the way, Chloe's fucking amazing. With "abandoned oil well" she knew what and where Jack was talking about ... Shoot out at the oil well. Person who killed Palmer is part of it and was shot by Bauer. Chloe keeps calling "Frank" ... Jack. That's not smart; Jack just killed him. It's not like he might have had more information or anything. Just before he shoots him, killer says it's set up to make it look like Bauer did it.
First hour over It went quickly as usual.
8 to 9 a.m.
Video tape shows Jack Bauer on security videotape at the hotel where Palmer was. Audrey, and others putting the pieces together pretty quickly against Jack. CTU head guy Bill says "I'm sorry." They compute more records and find out Chloe called Palmer and Tony. "Jack Bauer is now the prime suspect in President Palmer's assassination." The APB is going out.
Ah, finally Walt Cummings is checking the phone records to see if Palmer called Marsha Logan. ... Audrey has to tell President Palmer Jack's the prime suspect. Walt lays out Jacks' history of drug use and recklessness to lay out a "Yeah, he could have done it" thesis. "Jack Bauer has a history of great service to this country." "Ms. Raines. You have a suspect. Find him." Ah, that cuddly side of Logan that says: "Punch me please. I enjoyed all the wedgies I got in pre-school, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, junior high, high school, and university. Logan does not release further information to the Russian delegation about the danger all around him.
Mysterious bad guy in place again. They show a good part of his white face. Should I recognize that face? Shadowy bad guy to other guy on phone. "He won't have a chance. We launch in less than an hour."
... 8:09 ....
Diane speaks to son on phone. Does not chew Jack a new one, though does ask, without answer, who is that female voice? TV has reports out. Yeah, Russians may be pissed. They'll probably call of the whole thing. Which would be highly amusing.
Really Derek does look EXACTLY like Elisha Cuthbert's replacement. Stringy blond hair and clefted chin included.
scene ...
They're in parking garage of Palmer's hotel. I think. He's in the hotel room. ... Chloe spills out the beans when Derek asks why Chloe keeps on calling him Jack. Chloe: "I already told you more than I should." Ya think?

My favorite show. The sarcasm and frivolity of the blow-by-blow of a show this fascinating and well-done turned me off after 5 or 6 entries, even though I tragically missed the first half-hour.
Contra our blogger, last season was completely persuasive and riveting.
I went and I'm spent: -) Recorded West Wing and Law and Order:CI.
If anyone wants me to refine this a little more, while keeping the live-blogging feel let me know. Temple
David, if you read other people's blow by blows before this one - yep I completey understand your point.
By the way, Last May 24, I called the 24 finale the worst episode ever
Fixed spelling of Aubrey to Audrey. Added Kenny-Kennedy line. Couldn't resist that one.
Monday's will be the regular days for the show.
Ehhh.. at least this was better than watching the bears lose :(.
24 tries (more than any other show I know of) to be technically accurate with their references to computers, but it sort of comes off goofy: their reference to redirecting network traffic, or the wireless AP's, or Chloe asking for that [intel?] mac's IP address. But at least they attempt it. Can't say that for any movies.
am So Jealous Temple -
I did get to watch but not do live updates. I didn't even do dead updates! I wanted to at least post on my own blog - but no, just didn't happen!
Anyway, thanks for this - fun. : )
I miss liking this program. I am kind of into this season, but I miss every other week because of having to cover council meetings.

PS. glad I waited to get 24 DVDs because they're like $10 bucks now for the whole season. I have to watch the first couple of seasons again and remind myself when the writers weren't spinning their wheels and believing the hype.
