Contest! Martina McBride Returns With Country Classics
Published October 04, 2005
Country music superstar Martina McBride is releasing her eighth studio album on October 18, but with a twist. The multi-platinum selling artist recorded and self-produced (with a little help from her husband, John McBride) an album of country music classics, and recorded them live with a handpicked band of musicians.

"I've always wanted to make a traditional country album and I'd say that every time I'd start a record. Then I'd gather songs that always kind of led me in another direction. But it has always been in my heart to do a record like this," McBride says.
The first single from the album, "Rose Garden", a remake of Lynn Anderson's #1 hit in 1970, is already moving up the charts, currently occupying #28 on the Billboard Country chart.
McBride says the goal of the album was to give it a classic sound that attempted to stay true to the original songs' styles. "I wasn't interested in doing a 2005 version. I wanted to get the feel of the original recording. I have to say, the musicianship on this record is some of the finest I have ever heard," she says.
A media player is available for listening to tracks from the album as well as an interview with Martina McBride here.
A contest is also be run in conjunction with the pre-sale of the album, which is underway now. Fans can win a trip to Red Mountain Spa in Utah, collectible vinyl CDs and an iPod shuffle. Contest info, rules and signup is available by following this link.

Helloooooo! Number one: She always comes on
the country countdowns....I have never heard one
bleeped out word....etc...
Look. People are allowed, even under the guise
of "make-pretend stories...." to sing about
that old coffee in the morning, and the
disillusionment of dreams...the coffee was in the
coffeeshoppe! For that song I referred to.
All I know, 100%, would be he felt disillusioned
and he thought of people living in his building
instead of this one woman who made him a fool...
I'm sorry, Martina...maybe Tom Cruise could use
this manic-type bestiality as a request for help.
Professionally trustin' and sad and afraid,
Reisa L Gerber

Cath-XXX-
Recently my family got together in southern Florida, where my mother has a co-op... All of a sudden, I was listening to country music...and I began to think about Martina McBride and the mistake I made about her song content. The song I am dying to hear and own is "Independence Day" - let the whole world know that this is the day of reckoning... It's an incredible talent and beauty she has, but I probably will keep listening to the radio until I hear it from there. Martha, it's lovely... "daddy
left the... whatever... on her cheek!" Lovely, ma'am!

I'm not sure if Martina was that old
country singin' holy beat who sang
"I'm glad I'm Not the Bride"!
If a mama loves a man....and they get
along well, and they love each other,
ya' know...."I thought I was talking
to you" would suffice, instead of
the "stickout" popkin she jumps at the
world and uses her so-called "lovers"
to see somebody else!.....right?" And
I'd laugh when I dropped her off!"
I was planning on a possible match last
year-Somewhere along the line, he
heard "Trick Pony"-
He was hurt to death, but he kept on
tryin'. Now he lives somewhere in
North Florida....
And...me and my friends are calling
him this week. May I ask you to please
have some consideration for his heart
as well as mine? BECAUSE "you keep on
lookin' the other way" until he
actually gets mutual with you-
spare me- uh-uh-uh-uh
uh-uh-uh-uh
Oh I forgot! It's a song and it's
so cruel I wanna die....And tell
what's his name that "McBride and McPride" are not siamese twins!
Thanks, mama.
