Okay, okay. I know I said Magic Junk Radio was an experiment, just a one-time creative crossover from a non-musician. But in pushing my limited skills to make the first MJR, I found I really enjoyed the process. The beauty of being creative, for me, is that I find things in myself that I didn't realize were there. Thus, it was worth it to create a sequel. Composition is king, and I gladly bow before it.

Magic Junk Radio 2 is subtitled "Humble As Ever", since I make no boasts, no sales pitches, and no long winded soliloquies on the state of the world. It really is just an eclectic maelstrom of sounds, voices, and samples. Some parts might make you laugh, tap your foot, bob your head, cry, fear for my mental stability--whatever. In the words of the long lost Sugar Smacks Frog, just "dig 'em." Like its predecessor, MJR 2 is a fast food podcast (now with appetizers and dessert), clocking in at just under 26 minutes.

Good lord man. Let's call this different.

And I haven't hear it yet - but will. I just know it will be.

- Temple

I'm flattered to be called 'different' before a note is even played.

#3 — October 3, 2005 @ 20:00PM — Mark Saleski [URL]

very, very cool.

temple stark sampled...who woulda thunk it?!

#4 — October 3, 2005 @ 20:16PM — Mark Sahm [URL]

Marv Albert made Temple shine. That or the chomp sound. At least, in my opinion.

Thanks, Mr. Saleski.

Oooh I heard my voice.

Uggg. A lot :-0

Why do i have the feelgn I will be using many more sound effercts on my own podcsast soonish.

Good stuff. I wrote a high school football article to your background Magic Junk. I finished a minute after it was done. I had lost all inspiration to write and playing it again right away just didn't seem to do it for me again.

Keep it going ... Please.

Oh and my last name isn't pronounced Stark. The K is silent.

OK, I'm shitting you. ... Mr. Rhymes with Psalm. ...

Eventually, I dream of getting my voice to the James Earl Jones or Kiefer Sutherland level, but in the meantime, I must use sound effects as a clutch.

Anyway, gracias for the feedback, T-Star. Now if only I can get that OBH guru to comment... ;)

Okay, okay, I see my name (more or less). I'll give it a listen. :-)

#8 — October 5, 2005 @ 15:29PM — DJRadiohead [URL]

There are too many of us with GarageBand! I love doing my disclaimer with that deep voice. I did it for Ep 4 and Ep 5.

I am listening to it now...

#9 — October 5, 2005 @ 15:29PM — DJRadiohead [URL]

Your voice is not as annoying as you think.

#10 — October 5, 2005 @ 15:49PM — DJRadiohead [URL]

Dude, I really like this.

Now I am afeared, of course. You know where to find my podcast. I might be a victim of your vicious sampling. =)

Very good stuff. I actually dabbled in a little of this on Episode 5 - but not nearly to this extent or this well. Nicely produced.

#11 — October 5, 2005 @ 19:47PM — S.Rod

DJR-You really should not have said that...anyone is a potential sample. ;) Although friends and family are just as likely to be sampled...he asked me to read something for him and next thing I know I'm on "Eclectic Maelstrom"...the funny thing is...I don't even drink coffee.

Remember: "Don't believe anything this guy is saying"

#12 — October 5, 2005 @ 20:44PM — Mark Sahm [URL]

DJR: Glad you dug it. I'd only sample you if I was doing a remake of Fatboy Slim's "In Heaven". If you've never heard it, let's just say it uses your favorite 4-letter word. A lot.

S.Rod: All those who speak into my mic become Magic Junk property. Besides, I gave you credit for your song, did I not?

#13 — October 6, 2005 @ 09:12AM — S.Rod

Mark, you got me there. Next time I will be more careful to watch for the green light and thanks for letting me tinker with your GB.

#14 — October 10, 2005 @ 15:37PM — Phillip Winn [URL]

I finally listened to this over the weekend. Very impressive!

Definitely sounds like a lot more work than my approach: click and speak.

Well, okay, we put a *little* more thought into in than that, but your show is something else. I'm definitely going to listen to any and all future episodes.

#15 — October 10, 2005 @ 19:45PM — Mark Sahm [URL]

Holy naked lady playing cards, Batman! I got an "impressive"?!? Who paid you to say that?

All jokes aside, I appreciate the gesture, PW. We'll see if I learned anything the next time around.

As for approaches, I consider 'click and speak' leagues more difficult than multi-track production, which is why I can't do that. But, to each their own, eh? :)
