No Alcohol Problems Ever Again in The Airport

When watching this series called airport USA, you often see those moments when somebody who may or may not have drunk too much, is being picked out, asked some questions, and then refused for that flight, until they are sober again. I saw one instant where somebody asked if they couldn't do a test, but apparently that isn't possible. Or is it ?

When I saw that, I thought, wait a minute. They can't do that, but surely, nobody is forbidding you to have your own alcohol tester. So if they can't you still can. And if you do so, and it says OK, you're not drunk, then they can only agree with that. They can hardly say that you can't board because you're drunk, can they? If the thing says you aren't then you aren't?

Having your own alcohol tester is also very useful, for when you go out, and you want to know if its still safe to drive for you. Better be safe then sorry.

One of the models below is a key chain model. Now with all the good will in the world I can still imagine somebody creating fake testers. Where no matter how much one has drunk, it always says that you're not drunk. At times that would be so obvious. So perhaps somebody should start a service that checks them and licenses them. Or better yet, sell them on the airport. The electronic ones, or the one usage ones. Or with a certificate that says this person is not drunk. They can't do much against that, can they. They could regulate it.

The easiest, cheapest and most sure, is not to drink before you have to get a flight. And if there are certain medical conditions, you could always ask your doctor to write you a note, and still buy an alcohol tester. Just in case.

It's wise to remember that no alcohol breath tester actually measures blood alcohol concentration (BAC), which can only be measured by a blood test. Alcohol breath testers only test breath, which provides an *estimate* of BAC. Unfortunately, alcohol breath testers don't have high reliability.

Thank you for pointing that out. The best solution is still not to think.
