Blogcritics: Get Your Football Gaming On
Published September 12, 2005
It's football season again (thank thy Lords of the Pigskin!) which means tailgating with chunks of seared flesh, the fleshy jowls of John Madden waxing rhapsodic about America's new national pastime, and lots and lots of flying bodies, aerial assaults, heart pulsing action, and last but not least for most: commercial after commercial featuring beer, scantily clad women, and dopey guys performing dopey stunts to win the good graces of scantily clad women and/or beer.
And it's also the time that Blogcritics the football-loving globe over are getting in on the action.
We got your fantasy football, we got your elimination games, and we got your straight-up pick 'em winners. It's all for fun - no money changing here folks, this is all for Virtual Pride and Glory. So get in now and start gaming and commenting your merry little Number One foam fingers off!
Big Money To Advertise During Super Bowl
Millions of people watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, with many of them paying more attention to the commercials rather then the game itself. For many, the big-win will go to the best commercial. Among advertisers shelling out $2.5...

Browns Fans: 'Don't Do It'
On the eve of the Super Bowl, some Browns fans are feeling that urge. It's easy to understand why. The Browns have been dreadful since their return in 1999, have not won a playoff game since 1994, and haven't even...

This Year, Super Bowl Ads Are Strictly Monkey Business
Are you ready for some commercials? OK, it doesn't have quite the same ring as Hank Jr.'s musical query to Monday Night Football fans, but on Sunday the question is as important as which team you're rooting for. Even non-football fans...

Super Bored: The Week Before the Game
In a strange way, I pity the writers and broadcasters that have been given the Super Bowl beat. It's weird to write that as a struggling journalist, but still, I feel for the men and women who are covering the...

You got it RJ -- this'll be a one stop shop for football gaming all season long!
So, when I type "NFL" in Google, this post should come up in the top ten by November, right? :)
Hey, it's something to shoot for!
It'll likely be up there somewhere on Google News for a bit, which ain't bad.
Ask and ye shall receive... though it sometimes takes a little while.
Randy Moss never looked better in that Raiders jersey.
I'm sure not a Raiders fan, but having the league's coolest, most exciting player in the league's coolest jersey is fun. I kinda want a black Moss jersey now.
That is all.
Back in the days when I worked for a community sports website, I wrote a piece on Moss and Jason Williams (the hotshot point guard who played for Memphis the last time I checked). They grew up in the same town in West Virginia, and actually played both basketball and football together for a spell.
It was interesting but not a little bit weird to talk to their old high school coaches and teacher. All professed the two to be nice, quiet kids, though they both dealt (and are dealing) with trouble alongside sports mega-success.
I don't really have a favorite NFL team. But watching him Sunday night, he looked right at home.
J-Will still plays for Memphis.
I remember Randy Moss catching passes from Chad Pennington at Marshall against Toledo in the MAC Championship.
patriots rule and they will win again this years bet on that SON (eagles SUCK)
I need to take a week off just to go through the links! Thanks.
