QueerEdge with Jack E. Jett Bows on QTN

Q Television — the 24/7 satellite subscription television network organized to "create, develop and feature television programming for the gay and lesbian community" — has announced a new nightly talk show, QueerEdge with Jack E. Jett, starring our very own Blogcritic Jack E. Jett.

I know Jack E.'s the star because his name's in the title.

"We are thrilled with QueerEdge with Jack E. Jett," said Frank Olsen, President, CEO and Founder of Q Television Networks. "We have already seen great reviews of the show, and Jack's talent and humor keep the audience coming back for more."

QueerEdge with Jack E. Jett will focus on pop culture and subculture, according to the network, and will include celebrities ranging from Jinx Titanic, Jason Priestly and Sean Young, to cult icons like Fran Baskerville, the singing psychic, Buck Angel, a female to male transsexual porn star, and former NFL fullback Esera Tualo.

"I am, at heart, a pop culture fanatic. When I am not working, I am always surfing the internet for folks with a unique perspective of life, or who have chosen a career path that some might find odd," says Jett. "And I love the word 'queer.' I have never thought of it as a word that is exclusive to one's sexuality. Everyone has something queer about them, some more than others."

Arnold Wayne Jones of TXT Magazine describes the show as, "A cross between So Graham Norton, Sprockets, The Osbournes, and Max Headroom, assuming the host is Stuart Smalley's schizophrenic brother." He adds, "Jack E. Jett somehow manages to be derivative and sui generis."

Jack E.'s background lends itself to such madness. He received comedy training at Humber Comedy College of Performing Arts, was a successful runway and print model in the '80s, an assistant to Belinda Carlisle in the late-'80s, and a U.S Representative for Prime Television Australia in the early 90s.

His TV and film credits hosting The Jack E. Jett Show on PrideVision Television Network in Canada, and The Gayest Show on Earth, with a DVD released through TLA video. He sub-hosted Cheaters, an international syndicated TV series, directed 15 experimental shorts under the name of Peanus Colada; and appeared in Access Nation. Jett has also co-hosted OnQ Live since the show debuted on Q Television Network.

Career media professional Eric Olsen is honored to be the founder and publisher of Blogcritics.org, which, quite frankly, rules - as do his wife and four children.
