Talk of Blogcritics' 10 Millionth Visitor is Talk of Blogosphere

Nearly everyone is talking about Blogcritics' third anniversary and that it recently received its 10 millionth unique visitor, and it's not just the nearly 1100 contributors here at Blogcritics. Weblogs, Inc.'s therssweblog had this to say:

The megablog site Blogcritics celebrated its third anniversary last Friday, touching on milestone metrics. A few days before Blogcritics got its 10-millionth unique visitor. The site, which runs culture reviews authored by over 1,000 writers, and uses 20 editors, receives 10,000 unique visitors a day (presumably at the site, not RSS hits), and publishes 1,000 comments on over 50 entries each day. Congrats to founder Eric Olsen.

Instapundit shared his missing the event with the world.

AMONG THE THINGS I MISSED last week was BlogCritics' third anniversary.

Blogcritics also chimed in. Margaret Romao Toigo had this to say on her blog, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave:

Congratulations to Blogcritics.org upon reaching the 10 million unique visitors mark, just before their third anniversary (August 12, 2005).

My Blogcritics experience began in 2002 with this post and this post on Nirvana's You Know You're Right and how the "leak" was atually a stealth viral-marketing tactic. I also got a little too close to adult film star Mary Carey during her run for governor of California, interviewing her for Blogcritics and naturally publicizing it. I've also had the pleasure of being the subject of debate on many, many occassions, while on others I've thrown out some intellectual (or not) stimuli for in-depth discussion.

If there was a t-shirt with a slogan on it that read, "It never would've happened without Blogcritics!" it would fit me just fine. Congratulations to everyone here at Blogcritics, on your 10 millionth unique visitor and third year of highly superb writing, reviewing, interviewing, editorializing and entertaining, and may Blogcritics have many more to come!

I note that we're already well north of 1,000,000 page views this month, and it's only half over.

Once it snowballs there's no stopping it, it just keeps on growing.

100,000 a day (at least Mon - Fri) seems likely in the very near future. That would be almost 3 million a month. And over 30 million a year...
