Milestones: On BlogCritics and Personally
Late to the party, as usual. That's me. Someone else may well post another entry on the 10 millionth visitor to BlogCritics.org, but for now, it looks like I'm one of the last to do so. I remember the birth of...

Blogcritics.org Reaches 10 Million Unique Visitors Mark
Congratulations to Blogcritics.org upon reaching the 10 million unique visitors mark, just before their third anniversary (August 12, 2005). For those not familiar with Blogcritics.org, whose tagline is, "A sinister cabal of superior bloggers on music, books,...

Blogcritics for me
Blogcritics hits ten millions visitors, and for anyone that number is just amazing. Broken down that means they averaged just a little over three million hits a year. We're not going by averages those because with each day that passes,...

Blogcritics: Looking Back At 10,000,000
With dual milestones in view (10,000,000th visit just behind and third year just ahead), I poked around in the database to see what sort of things might be interesting to remember.

Ten Million and Counting: Blogcritics.org Just Keeps on Coming
I'm not even sure how I stumbled across Blogcritics.org, but the occurrence changed my life in some small but real and meaningful way. I'd feel a little silly writing that if I was the only one, but I know the...

Blogcritics and Me, Or How I Came To Be Here
Last night, a small group of the editors of Blogcritics huddled around their respective monitors waiting for SiteMeter to tell them that the ten-millionth visitor to the site had arrived. Fleeting though it was, it was a pretty nifty...

thanks for all your efforts Aaman!
Truly a remarkable accomplishment. Any predictions of how long it will take to reach the next 10 million?
Dave
yeah, shades aren't enough
under 6 months for the next 10mil
Exponential!
Congrats!
Wow! This is the first I've seen that the bloganthology was published. Any way to find out whose writings were used?
check with the publisher or editor?
Maybe you've already done this, but I think it would be interesting to have a link of the brief history of BC and how its creators had humble beginnings and limited fundage yet grew the site to where it is now.
Unless of course, the 10 million hits hasn't gone to your head. Congrats.
I am proud to be a part of this and -- with the help of my writing over the past three months -- to bring 10 more hits to the site.
Have you bought that mansion yet, Olsen?
Out of curiosity, which of you goofs have been around from the beginning?
That is all.
I'll come up with a list of the folks who published the very first week and are still around.
Like me. :-)
I'm wearing two eye patches right now in celebration!
good question BAB - eager to see that Phillip!
I know I wasn't first to the party, but I am damn glad to be here. As Keith Richards says, "It's great to be here- it's great to be anywhere."
Cheers, Eric.
While that might be nice spam - it perhaps belongs in the open Culture thread, or send in a press release to the editor/publisher.
"There's spam, eggs, sausage and spam. That's not got MUCH spam in it.
But I don't want ANY spam."
dude's in Indiana where they got culture
spam's gone but the thought remains
BAB, I posted the result of a little database-poking, so you can find out who the original lucky 13 are.
thanks Mark, Matt and Josh!
Spam, Hoosier Kentuckian version:
"There's spam, collard greens, pig feet and spam. That's not got MUCH spam in it..."
Congratulations, Eric - it's been an honor and fun experience being part of the site - I'm currently staying away to avoid seeing the Harry Potter spoilers till I finish the book.
Kudos to Dawn for sparing so much of your time and putting with all the stress you definitely go through:)
Congratulations to Philip, Temple, the editors and all blogcritics,as well as the readers.
I'm going to redouble my efforts to promote BCs to my friends and aquaintances. I've had the home page as part of my signature block for about a year now, but I will post an article on my blog.
It would be really cool Rolling Stone, and other established media could pick up on this story. Or even Amazon.com. Presumably, we send a lot of traffic their way. Is anything being done to promote our success to other media establishments? Can something be done? I think we have a lot of potential volunteers standing by to help.
Congrats again to Eric, Philip, Temple, Aaman all the other editors and all the writers, both regulars and not so regulars. We're onto to something GREAT here!!
10,000,000. It is a BIG number! Congratulations. It is great to get where you wanted to go. It is not always the way it happens.
I hope you enjoy the next challenges at least as much. And the next set of awards and recognition.
Hopefully, I helped a little these past months.
I put a 10million picture post on my wordy blog rather than my photoblog. It seemed apt.
Commentaries
It is, far from the cliché, the beginning of the rainbow; not the end.
Absolutely amazing. And you did that before the Christians came to seek and destroy. Congratulations to all who were there from the start. The quality of discourse is excellent, and I enjoy every bit of it.
And Randy saith,Go Forth and multiply, ye blogcritics
Thanks Randy - the good stuff always separates from the chaff, or something like that, innit?
Impressive. I go away for a few weeks and BAM! BC hits a milestone.
I'll have to get back into the groove soonish eh...
nice one, fellow BCers. Not to mention the readers, and the commenters-who-aren't-article-posters
thanks so much guys, and SP, you are so right about Dawn: her tolerance, support, vision and willingness to go for years without much income from me has made my involvement possible!
Happy Birthday, Eric - If you were here in Milwaukee, there'd be a piece of cheesecake with your name on it:)
dude's in Indiana where they got culture
i'm in the northeast. indiana, kentucky...it's all the same to me! ;-)
I can taste it, SP!
Mark, provincialist!
I'll second the happy birthday to EO and secondarily repeat my happy birthday to Blogcritics... yet another milestone!
thanks for both EB!

Always good to have Tenacious D operatives on board...
Lisa Hoover picked this for an Editors' Pick of the Week. Go ahead and find out why here.
Honored to have joined the crew before the big celebration! Congrats, Eric, Phillip, and everyone.
Congrats, Eric and all Blog Critics!
I am so happy to see this site becoming such a success!
Way to go! I'm a new "Blog Critic" and already loving the site! Congratulations to everyone that made it possible!
thanks to Lisa for the pick! I am certain it's more the concept than the execution
thanks and very glad to have you along Meryl, Jude and Regina!
I am new around here, but I have to say I feel right at home. This is an amazing opportunity, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
Congratulations to Eric and everyone else.
To me, Blogcritics represents a more down-to-earth view of the world.
As the dot-com MBAs from Stanford used to say, pre-bomb, it's:
Granular
Congratulations and happy anniversary (this Friday) to Blogcritics.org and all blog critics!!
Congrats to Blogcritics writers, staff creator, editors everybody. A great accomplishment well deserved.
Eric,
Congratulations! And thank you again for letting me hang my fedora here from time to time.
Ed
thanks for your always excellent and original work Ed, has made a very big difference from the beginning!
August Fourth was my 34th b-day, the day this was posted. And I just reminded myself at my own blog - archives ya know - that I created that little 10 million served graphic up at the top.
Trafifc is at about 15.7 million today, not yet four months later.
Mazel Tov, Temple! I see I'll have to post more articles.

Congratulations Eric/Philip, all blogcritics, and our active readers - thanks for an enriching experience!
