Killbush.net
Published July 28, 2005
So there's this website called "Kill Bush, Vol 1" at the provocative url killbush.net. What to think?
Obviously, "Kill Bush" is the kind of phrase that seems like a highly questionable one for public discourse, least ways while Bush is president. A "Kill Reagan" site or a "Kill Lincoln" site would be different, as they are long dead. Even a "Kill Carter" site wouldn't be quite as provocative, in that he's not commander in chief now.
But it's understandable that many folks will not be amused by talk that seems to be advocating the assassination of the sitting president, particularly while we're at war. That's really, really pushing the out boundaries of acceptability.
The obvious defense for the site would be that the title is not meant literally. "Kill Bush" is a play on the classic Quentin Tarantino movie "Kill Bill." They even noted the "Vol 1" in their page title, and have a shilouette of Uma Thurman bearing her sword.
That's pushing it for an excuse, though. For starters, in the movie "Kill Bill" was absolutely meant literally. Plus, they're selling "Kill Bush" t-shirts. Also, they do absolutely nothing else with the "Kill Bill" conceit other than the title, and that Uma logo. On the other hand, by the same token, other than that title, they do absolutely nothing else with the "Kill Bush" theme.
The website seems to be somewhat elaborate in how it's put together, though the content is pretty much pinko boilerplate. US = BAD, Israel = BAD.
"The real face of terror: USA One hundred years of oppression." Blah, blah, blah.
There also, however, appears to be video and such, and some anti-Bush video games. I didn't get very far with the anti-Bush game, however, coming in on a dialup connection. The video had descriptions in Spanish, apparently, so el gringo Al has no idea. The thumbnails of the still images had pretty much of the standard Bushhitler schtick.
The site obviously is intellectually nothing, though the video game might be mildly entertaining. Hulk Hogan is used apparently as a player figure in the game. Wonder how he would appreciate being in an "anti-Bush" game at killbush.net?
I won't pretend to understand the finer points of the legal system enough to tease out the nuance of how this fits into law, but they're really pushing their luck with this foolishness. I would be inclined to tolerate this, but I'm SO not going to want to hear their boo-hoo hooing when some humorless Secret Service agents come sniffing around and asking questions.

Maybe it's time to rev up that long dormant political assassination squad. Been a while since we called in a hit on anyone in central America.
Dave
My friend was a division chief in the Secret Service. They do actually work in foreign countries and I imagine they'll be by.
I'm not a fan of George Bush, though. At all.
Even if Bush really were as bad as Hitler I would never want to see him assassinated. No president is bad enough to be worth the cost.
In fact, even if Hitler himself got plucked from his bunker by neo-Nazis with a time machine, and got elected to the American presidency, I wouldn't want to see him assassinated. Impeached, certainly. Put on trial and even executed, no problem if it's done in accordance with the law and the Constitution. (Still talking about the actual Hitler here, not making any hints about Bush.) But not assassinated. Not even him.
No matter how bad a president gets, the social and political damage any assassination does to the nation will always inevitably be worse. And also unnecessary, since we still have the good sense to kick every president out of the Oval Office, all nice and legal-like, after a maximum of eight years.
Is it okay when we clandestinely assassinate leaders from other nations?
Just curious. And for the record, I would prefer a site that said killosamalikeadeadmothereffer.
I think the bigger issue here is that Al is still on dialup. I hope its because you are in the backwoods somewhere and can't get cable or dsl even if you wanted it.
Neal: The owner of the site is in Mexico, maybe beyond U.S. jurisdiction
It's closer than Panama. Ask Noriega how far U.S. jurisdiction extends.
BTW, killosama.com and killosama.us are taken, but no one has bothered to put any content on them, perhaps because they're not good long-term investments. killosama.org is available.
Most of the worthwhile killbush.* addresses are actually taken, except for killbush.us, which I guess would be just too unpatriotic. Killbush.net goes to the same place as killbush.com. Killbush.de is an uninteresting German bushater site.
If you're frustrtated by the unavailability of the best killbush sites, my domain service recommends bushkillbroker.com, which suggests that they were actually thinking about the needs of the professional assassin management industry when they wrote their name generator. Scary.

[...] though the content is pretty much pinko boilerplate.
Am I the only person who gets tired of hearing the term "pinko" thrown around all the time? Not every liberal is a fucking Communist. And why is being a Communist so bad in the first place, Barger?
The content of the site really isn't all that offensive. Actually, I couldn't seem to read most of it in English, so I wouldn't have even had the opportunity to find it offensive. The sentimement of "US = Bad. Israel = Bad." is not a particularly new one, and not, in certain contexts all that unreasonable.
The only thing really controversial here is the title of the site, which doesn't really have much to do with the content. The site isn't actually advocating an assassination. It doesn't seem like the Secret Service really has too much to go on, here.
The site (and the t-shirts) are actually pretty slick looking, if you ask me...
Bryan, I'm not sure who else is throwing around the word "pinko" except for me. I pick it to use partly because it's an archaic word that few others use. My use of the term is carefully considered.
Really, "pinko" is rather a mild and good humored term to use in describing haters like this.
You say that every liberal is not a Communist. I don't claim that they are, thus "pinkos" as a description rather than "reds." Still, what is called "liberal" here in fact would be better described as "socialist." That would more precisely reflect the actual policy content of so-called "liberals." Socialism is just watered down communism. The philosophical basis and policy aims are pretty much the same. It's just that, depending on exactly who you're talking about, "socialists" don't take their evil and discredited views all the way to the wall like a self-proclaimed communist.
And I can hardly believe this question: "why is being a Communist so bad?" Uh, because communist ideology put into practice over the last century has been responsible for more human death and suffering and lost potential than any other ideology in the history of mankind. That would be the short answer.
You might argue that the proprieters of this website are not actually advocating that someone should kill Bush. However, just that phrase sure sounds like a command. You, over there, Kill Bush!
This might understandably be argued to be a somewhat thin reed of complaint. However, I don't think it's even reasonable to expect people to have much sense of humor- and there's nothing the least bit actually FUNNY about the site- with regards to this topic. It certainly reads like they're saying that Bush is Hitler, and the USA the great oppressor, and should be stopped by any means necessary.
>And I can hardly believe this question: "why is being a Communist so bad?" Uh, because communist ideology put into practice over the last century has been responsible for more human death and suffering and lost potential than any other ideology in the history of mankind.<
Facts and figures please.
Valery, are you in fact so utterly uneducated as to have no clue about the TENS OF MILLIONS of people slaughtered by Stalin and Mao, just for starters? If so, you need to crack a history book, not just a comments thread on a blog article.
>>Facts and figures please.<<
Valery, can you really be this uninformed? What are they teaching in High Schools in America now?
And Al, I think if you add up Mao, Stalin and all the little communists like Castro and Pol Pot, the death count is probably over 100 million by now. And what makes it particularly insidious is that the deaths were not on the grounds of racism or the lust for power. Communism generates a need for the deaths of unbelievers on a purely ideological basis.
There's no question that communism is the ideology responsible for the single greatest amount of repression and death of any ideology in history, including nazism and fascism.
And the reason why communism is so relevant to our discussions here is that the communist element in the US has not gone away. While everyone on the left is not a communist, and the Democratic party is not yet dominated by communists, the most outspoken, spearhead elements of the attempted revival of the left are directly derived from the communist party in the united states, which is literally attempting a subversive takeover of the Democratic party through organizations like moveon.org and the rest of their web of grassroots organizations.

Yeah, and they're trying to put fluoride in our water.
who has killbush.com?
killbush.com and killbush.net are the same site.
Dave
I much prefer:
www.smirkingchimp.com
Enjoy.
That is all.
I think that says everything we need to know about your level of intellect beyond your pathetic nom de blog.
Dave
Hey, what's the big deal here? I like 'em shaved, too. Or at least neatly trimmed.
Shaved, all the way.
I think Dave Nalle's mad because he has a hairy grey Bush. Pathetic! Your nom de guerre is substandard! I am morally outraged! I am Dave Nalle, outraged white male conservative! Lighten up, Dave. Let Senator Al take you on a man-date to see ELO and Rush.
That is all.
"why is being a Communist so bad in the first place"
100 million dead, and still going strong!

You're suggesting I take your "TENS OF MILLIONS" estimate with a load of salt. No problem.
Got any figures relating to the number of people sent to an early grave by capitalism?
Politics kills more people than porn.
Just guessing.
Val -
Stalin slaughtered millions of his own people. He was a Communist. Look it up.
Mao slaughtered millions of his own people. He was a Communist. Look it up.
Pol Pot slaughtered millions of his own people. He was a Communist. Look it up.
Calvin Coolidge, however, sent a total of ZERO people to their demise in slave labor camps. Same with Hoover. And Reagan. And Thatcher. And all those other "EVIL" capitalists.
Advice: READ A BOOK!
>>Got any figures relating to the number of people sent to an early grave by capitalism? <<
Capitalism doesn't have killing dissidents as one of its primary methodologies. Capitalism NEEDS people to exploit and use. Dead people aren't useful. They don't work and they don't buy stuff.
Dave
Russian and Chinese governments engaged in mass slaughter long before the Communists showed up.
What about the Native Americans? What about Hiroshima and Nagasaki? What about the dying innocent in Afghanistan and Iraq? What about the CIA funding the Talibans, Pakistani military and Tamil Tigers guerillas? What about the dying and restriction of drugs and medicine in 3rd world countries thanks to the World Bank and the IMF? What about the millions who have had their lives ruined by harmful drugs since the CIA helped develop and experiment with synthetic drugs in MK-ULTRA? Look these up. These are facts, not conspiracy theories.
The implementation of communism has been oppressive, but so has capitalism and democracy.
Really there Muammar, you might want to slow down. You've got a litany of historical grievances, some of which are arguable (Hiroshima) and some of which are just ridiculous. Most of which is conjecture and and conspiracy theories on your part, not in fact facts.
Still, you're just being silly if you expect no eyebrows to be raised by "Kill Bill" t-shirts and such.
The communisms of which you people speak were in reality elite capitalisms, not at all compatible with democracy, which requires a certain level of socialism. Go fucking educate yourselves, this whole discussion is stupid. You people have no idea about politics or ideologies.

I imagine someone can look forward to an unpleasant visit from the Secret Service sometime soon.
