CD review: Viarosa

Where the Killers Run
Viarosa
(Pronoia)

A first listen this comes across of Moth (on female sung songs) and a bit of the Tea Party on the rest of the tracks with a dash of Nick Cave thrown in for good measure. This is a bit of a tough review because the previous sentence is the best I can come up with to review this disc. Its quirky a bit odd but amazingly catchy. Folky rock with hints of country and Americana (or as one put it Victoriana) thrown in for good measure. If you like the original and unique with a mellow pleasant vibe then this lot are definetely for you. A bit of patience is needed as well as at first it comes across as a tad odd, but give it a chance and be well rewarded. Perfect for those lazy hazy summer weekends in the sun. Highly recomended and yes it is that good.

Rating: 5/5
