Take me away again to Margaritaville...
Published June 20, 2005
I get it now. I understand what all the hype is about. Going to a Buffett concert isn't only about Jimmy. It's about feeling good. It's about thousands of fans sharing a bond. It's about escaping the hum drum realities of life for a few hours in a place where everybody sings, dances, hugs and parties. Jimmy says that what good is a religion if you can't drink, or something like that. You know what? He's right. The Mohegan Sun Arena was Margaritaville. It was Key West, the Caribbean, and Hawaii melded together to create the biggest beach party you could ever imagine. Jimmy made everyone feel good about themselves and each other. He proved that life doesn't end at forty - in some cases it's just beginning. If you've been to a Jimmy Buffett concert, I don't need to explain myself. You totally get it. If you have never been to one, I'd suggest you do whatever you can to grab that golden ticket. Once you've been to Margaritaville, you'll never want to come back.
Thanks, Jimmy.
