For having the big swinging brass ones to label Emma Bunton (of Spice Girls infame) in any "awesome albums" list - and to do so sincerely, not as a joke.
(Guess I was looking for a little light-hearted escapism this week and appreciated both of these.)

Heh, I love the format! Now we can all glare at the three editors that didn't submit any picks this week, or they can glare at the posters who apparently posted nothing really worthwhile all week long! :-)
If an editor said "there is nothing I liked this week" that would help and I would add that in. I'm not sure the situation or whether that's true. I think this week was merely a hiccup.
There wasn't any "editor's picks" chatter this week, so I suspect it dropped off the radar for several editors. I'll get my pick(s) in soon.

Might I suggest the creation of a "gold star" blogcritics "pick of the week" button (1"x1" or a bit smaller). I'd drop it into the review on my blog, and have it link back to this page.

I'm not a fan of cover songs, but when they're done right, they rock. See Springsteen's cover of Suicide's "Dream Baby Dream" on his current tour. The book, "Music Playlist: The Absolute Worst Covers... Ever." - Robert Burke,sounds fascinating. I'll have to pick it up.
