Hangface
(K-Ent)
It's not often that you find a band that unashamedly pinches another band's style and does it this well. It is clear from the get-go that this lot want to be Alice in Chains; in fact they cover an AIC track in the form of "Down." It is note perfect, so good you barely know it's a cover.
Since AIC is no longer around it could be argued that there is a niche for their brand of tunage. And this lot of Norwegians do it rather well indeed. I really wanted to trash this album for its lack of originality but just don't have the heart to do it. This is great grungy metal that does grab hold and keep your attention. The opening track "Cancel Me" it's a bloody good song that sets you up nicely for the rest of the disc.
So all in all, while it ain't too original it's damn good stuff. Oh yeah and it gets better with every listen. Expect big things from these boys next time round.

Unless he means "Down in a hole"
Marty? Does it need changing?
Yes, he is right its an STP song. Can't believe I got that wrong.
I've listened a lot to the album and it's growing every time. It's a great album...and I think Hangface deserves to have their own album-cover in their review..;)
The Hangface album is awesome. After seeing them live it changes the way you hear it. Live the energy is amazing. I have never been to any other bands show that draws in the audience like these guys do.

Ok, this album IS really good, but WHERE did you get the Alice in Chains-link?! "Down" is a STP song! ..And what's that AIC albumcover doing there? Haha.. Details aside; good review of a great album!
