Revenge of the Sith

My family and I just got back from seeing Revenge of the Sith. Now, if you are any kind of Star Wars fan you do have to see it but you will probably only want to see it once. Lucas has fallen in love with special effects and hides a pretty poor scripts with too many different creatures, too many different planets and way too many different weapons and aircraft.

Some of the questions I had before the movie; who was Siphodias (sp?) from episode 2? Not answered. Would the story from 3 tie into 4? Weakly.

The absolute lowlight of the movie was when Vader was told by the Emporer that Vader had killed his own wife and he let out a big Zurg-like "Nooooooo!" (an observation from my 6 year old). Other lowlights included too fast moving fight scenes where only a dedicated video gamer could follow.

I guess the movie is a geeks delight, with all the special effects, but it just wasn't that good. It was clearly my biggest theatrical disappointment. Check out what Doug TenNapel said. Go and see this bomb once, then go home and watch episodes 4 & 5.

At least The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe comes out December 9.

I'm just a regular guy in San Diego and blog at Broken Masterpieces.

I just saw episode III. I really liked it and thought it did a good job tying everything together. I agree that Lucas has become way to obsessed with special effects.
