Bolton Vote Delayed - Senators Want More Information

And I don't blame them. So do I. What the public has now is frustratingly vague. Probably the senators have better information than the public, but I still feel a bit in the dark on the validity of these charges. Here's a column that says the tide is turning in Bolton's favor, citing testimonies that support him. That's in the New York Times. There are other articles in the same paper that reach an opposite conclusion.

Anyway, Barbara Boxer's put a hold on the vote until some more information is released. I'm not normally on board with what Boxer's doing, but I want some more information myself.

Condi Rice says that Boxer's request is 'just a delaying' tactic. If that's the case, why not just release the papers and get on with it? It couldn't take that long. Surely they have the papers on file. Just xerox them and hand them out. As I've said before, although I support reform in the UN, and think that someone like John Bolton needs to do the job, if it proves true that Bolton distorted intelligence to meet his political ends, he is simply not qualified. Until I know this, I can't make a final decision on Bolton. How can the Senate?

I suppose the Senate can always have more hearings.
