Blogcritics Contest! Are You Ready To Meet Meat Loaf?

Win Tickets and Backstage Passes to Meat Loaf!!

That's right ... you read it correctly!

The one and only Meat Loaf, a performer who's been to hell and back and lived to sing about it--twice, in fact--is about to come to a town near you and we're giving away tickets and backstage passes to the show!

Meat Loaf has been active as an actor ('Fight Club,' 'The Salton Sea,' 'Crazy in Alabama,' 'Wayne's World,' etc.), a racing car enthusiast and a fantasy sports fan and commentator. Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell and Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell are two of the best-selling rock albums of all time, moving a total of 60 million worldwide, more than half of that in the U.S. alone.

Last year, Sanctuary Music released the DVD 'Meat Loaf Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.' His chart-topping 1993 hit, "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" recently served as the theme to a national Dr. Pepper TV advertising campaign.

Are you ready to meet Meat Loaf?

We already know you'd do anything for love, but the real question on our minds is, what would you do to "Meet Meat Loaf?"

Blogcritics.org is giving away a pair of tickets and backstage passes to the upcoming Meat Loaf tour. This national tour, aptly titled "Meat Loaf: The Tour...Experience it, be a part of it," will feature audience participation, unique radio tie-ins, and incredible rock and roll theatrics.

(For more information on the tour, click here)

So....how do I meet Meat Loaf?

Do you find yourself singing his songs in the shower? When you're doing karaoke, do you always sing "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad?" Are you in a Meat Loaf cover band? Blogcritics.org wants our contest participants to prove how much they want to "Meet Meat Loaf."

As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and because of this, we want to hear you performing Mr. Loaf's music! If you think you have what it takes to "Meet Meat Loaf," send us an mp3 of yourself performing a Meat Loaf song. Any song, any style. Bonus points are given for pictures to correspond with the music. (No video, please!)

After enough applicants have shown us their passion for Meat Loaf's music, the Blogcritics contest crew will narrow it down to 3 finalists. The remaining Meat Loaf fanatics will be featured on the site and voted on by our visitors. The ultimate Meat Loaf imitator will get to meet the man himself!

To enter our "Meet Meat Loaf" contest, send your music (mp3 please), pictures, and contact information to BCContests@gmail.com.

Please know that if chosen as the Grand Prize winner of this contest that you are fully responsible for all your travel plans and monetary expenses therein. We will only be providing the two (2) tickets and the two (2) Meet and Greet Passes.

Wow,

I can't stand Meatloaf. I mean, this is about the coolest contest we have ever done here. It is an honor to be selected. But, honestly, Meatloaf's music is an abhorration to rock.

Do we have to be any good at singing? Oh wait, it is Meatloaf, hard to listen to is part of the imitation. If I can figure out a way to record myself singing I am totally going to sing I'd Do Anything For Love....because I used to sing it ALL the time as a little girl. And quite frankly, he was the best part of Rocky Horror :)

You have to admit, whether you're a music snob or not, that there is some definite charm to his music.

Either way, I think it's a great contest idea and will be lots of fun.

thanks MB, great job

i never liked Meat Loaf back in the day (even with the E St. Band connection)

(i did like his vocals on Nugent's Free For All record)

a couple of years ago, i got to see him play in boston (a friend at work had an extra ticket)...it was one of these vh1 storytellers kinda things...audience members asking questions as intros for the songs.

the show was very entertaining...plus, he had a killer band. Kasim Sultan on bass is no freakin' slouch.

and yet, over and over, I come back to these simple words of wisdom: "don't let your meat loaf"

Mark,

Must have been a pricey extra ticket for a Storytellersesque show. That would've been nice to see.

#8 — May 4, 2005 @ 11:48AM — Mark Saleski [URL]

oh...it wasn't filmed for vh1, it was just the style of show he was doing on that tour.

I didn't think it was, hence the "esque." Still, when I saw Natalie Merchant on a small theatre tour (second concert ever, White Zombie was the first), tickets were around $50.00. I just thought something like Meatloaf on a small theatre/club tour would be as pricey if not more.

I love those small, intimate shows. Very special.

sounds like great fun. I would love to meet meatloaf. Meeting Eddie (from RH Picture Show) would be way too cool.

And bat out of hell remains one of my two favorite albums. I listen to it rarely, and for the nostalgia it brings. It was truly excellent/creative writing and I think MeatLoaf has a great voice.

Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to go to the east coast for one of the shows (in the very unlikely event I'd win).

Our little one does a great Carla deVito impersonation though
(throws her hand out wildly) 'Stop right there! I gotta know right now...'

Man, If I tried this I'd win hands down for worse singing ever. It's stirred a desire to go and listen to the tracks again. Maybe on vinyl.

How cool!

Gotta go work on my submission right now!

good luck to all, don't be shy, go for it

i wanna hear the Duke sing "All Revved Up With No Place To Go".

Looking forward to it David M.D.
