I really thought Savol was going home last night -- I mean, he SO blew chunks with the Hall and Oates song on Tuesday -- but, well, this is America, after all. But then, I suspect I already do. Another reminder to avoid the masses...

I am starting to wonder if people aren't voting for lard-ass out of contempt and just because they want to be contrary. It would really backfire in the producers' faces if Scott's sorry ass went on to win this thing. After all, Paula thinks he's fantastic. But then she needs to be voted off the show too.

Alright, I hadn't read a full-power rant by Dawn in a while. They are fun!

I didn't like Scott from the get-go because of his attitude. Crappy attitude. Zero charisma. Extremely camera un-friendly... I hope the unsportsmanlike conduct he displayed this week is the final nail in his coffin.

I seriously wonder just how the other contestants get along with him week to week. Curious to find out.

I THINK SCOTT HAS A REALLY GOOD VOICE, YOU ARE GOING ON ABOUT HIS WEIGHT, CALLING HIM EVERY NAME IN THE BOOK,LOOK IN THE MIRROR, I BET YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, YOU CAN'T. GET A LIFE. YOU DON'T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY, ABOUT HIS EX.

Let me take the middle road here.

Scott's weight is not an issue to me. Neither was Ruben Studdard's for that matter.

Scott's domestic violence conviction, though interesting enough that I even blogged about it, has been disposed of to my personal satisfaction. There are guys out there with major movies to their credit who are more violent.

Scott's voice is good. Solid, raw, soul tenor.

His pitch sucks. When Randy says 'pitchy' he's trying to say, in a short-hand way, that Scott's intonation - relating the notes he makes to the music played - is uneven. Even pop musicians have to follow a standard, and all of us know what it feels like to wince at sour notes. Every time Randy tells him "pitchy" I say amen.

That Hall & Oates number was a bad choice for that reason - I checked. The thing covers two full octaves, unusual for your everyday rock or pop song. Scott simply didn't have the pipes to bark out the low beginning, and it undercut the rest of the song.

My problem is that there is something he's just missing. That thing that I think Constantine has, Bo has sometimes, Nadia had and missed out on her chance to really capitalize through poor choices in songs. Carrie may have it, and when her charisma totally meets up with her vocal endowment, she'll be unstoppable. Scott just doesn't pop off the screen, doesn't come across the footlights. It may just be that there is a little director in his head taking up too much room and distracting him from communicating with everyone else in the audience. That's what it is - even when he's whipping off his glasses and rearing back, cutting loose, Scott seems kind of preoccupied. Like, it's too easy to see that he's wondering at every moment, "how'm I doin'?"

That's the hallmark of a performer who hasn't made it in their souls yet. He won't win because he is simply not ready. He takes himself to where ever he wants to go first. A true performer with magnetism takes the rest of us and goes along for the ride.

When people rant and rave sometimes the general population thinks "ok, that person's a little whacked" but Dawn - you hit the nail on the head girl! I've said it before - the friggin' AI voting is a sham! We're talking about the Fox network here! Don't people realize the power it has?? They're raking in millions from clueless people who actually believe their votes {and their $2.99 per call} will keep their favorite contestant in the running! You guys remind me of barnyard chickens engaged in full homocidal frenzy. I don't particularly care what happens on AI. I only watch it out of parental sacrifice, but Scotts last performance struck me as pretty good, relatively speaking. If he continues to attempt songs that compliment his narrow range of ability, I think he stands as good a chance as anyone.

So how many of you had fears of last season when Ryan the babe had them seperate into 2 groups? So, is Seacrest single or is he still living with that taibo chick Shanna?? I knew that he would tell the last person to go stand with the top group, but honestly, like happened last year, I was afraid that the top group was going to be the worst 3 and one of the front runers would go home.

I am still pissed that Scott is still there. I did like Anwar's good bye peice though. It reminded me of how humble he has been through the whole process.

Since this was an editorial there are only words that could be seen as "hateful" by Dawn. That is so not anywhere near Scott's level of nastiness. But then if you think causing physical harm to someone is the same as expressing your dislike for someone and why.... well nevermind then.

Kandis - why the hell would you say Scott's wife needed to be hi? Domestic abuse is a serious problem. Two women I use to work with are now missing because they had abusive boyfriends. No one able to hear could possibly conclude he sounds as good as Anwar, Nadia, et al. If viewers cast votes to boot someone from the show (instead of for their fave idol contestant) by all poll indications, Savol would have been history long ago.

I love Scott Savol very much for his cuteness and very good voice and very nice stage presence. I was shocked though to see a nude photograph of him emailed to me by someone. I dont know if it's fake or real. But it looks so real and nice too.

i totally disagree on Scott Savol sucking.. I beleieve he's actually a really good singer..
