Great Ideas for Mothers Day Gifts

Let's begin with an obvious one. Mother and Child detail by Gustav Klimt, a gorgeous little panel with incredible detail

Is she one of the millions of admirers of the work of that good-old 'Painter of Light', Thomas Kinkade? Then look no further. Glassmasters have quite a number of beautiful Kinkade panels ranging from ovals like this one to larger rectangular ones and a king-size 21" octagonal work.

For a more serious person who appreciates 20th century art and design perhaps something from the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection might work. All of these have been authorised and approved by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the options range from very small ornaments up to some free-standing reproduction stained glass panels which are framed in wood and make an elegant addition to a desk or side-table.

Another wood-framed item which is worth considering is Hollyhock by Louis Comfort Tiffany which was authorised and approved by the Corning Museum of Glass with meticulous attention to detail.

If these are too serious (and perhaps a little rich) for your taste then there are some really great little suncatchers in the Wild Bird Collection. Most are less than $30 and the quality and fine detail in them is amazing. Cardinals, hummingbirds and bluebirds are always popular but why not consider something a little out of the ordinary such as Chickadees and Blossoms?

Landscape of Peace was a new design in 2004 and I saw it in the Metropolitan Museum of Art store in the Mall at Shorthills in New Jersey priced at $125. It just goes to show how much you can save by shopping at Amazon!

Moving back to more relevant choices how about a Monet? Camille Monet and Child is just perfect as a Mothers Day Gift.

If she is a modern art affectionado then something by Chagall might be a good choice. Unfortunately Anniversary Flowers was discontinued last year and is no longer available but Wedding in a Village Street is not a bad substitute.

What list like this would be complete without an angel? Nothing fancy, just a very beautiful and finely detailed Guardian Angel to watch over your Mom:

Don't waste money on flowers or chocolates which will be gone in a week, buy something which will last a lifetime. Say it with CLASS, say it with GLASS!
