Cheap 2G Mail Accounts

Google announced today that it is doubling the capacity of the infamous Gmail accounts, still in beta testing phase. This is a "members only" email service with luxury settings such as POP and forwarding, available only by invitations from someone who is already a member. This is your lucky day! I have just 832 invitations left, and I'm lowering the price to a measly $4.95 US. Send me a message with your name and current email address, and use PayPal to send the fee. No tax. Must be over 18 years of age to participate. Void where prohibited.

Send requests for Gmail accounts to Georganna at Writer's Edge.

Why are you charging for them?

I got mine for free and have a few invites available...

I noticed that in addition to the extra gig and the new rich-text formatting features, my 47 invites were topped back off at 50. I had used three to give myself extra accounts since I had hit the 1GB limit... :-)

for those readers unaware, when Gmail first launched (in Beta, sorry, not a "proper" launch) there were many people selling Gmail invites on ebay. I heard they were going for up to $50 a pop. Of course, shortly after, people began to realise how easy it is to get a gmail account.
Incidentally, I too have i think 50 invitations to use. Anyone want more inbox space than they're likely to need for the next few years? Of course, though it's free, you have to not mind the fact that it's Google running it (i don't tbh)

I have 100 invites -- I am happy to give them out to progressive leftists in need, just send me your name and email address and a link to your blog.

I have no problem with doing mitzvahs for right-wingers and incrementalists, but the possibility that the gmail address could be used for something that ultimately would endanger me or people like me (e.g. fundie-xian email campaigns, dissemination of RNC/right-wing/Bushite propaganda on all manner of issues, items supporting centrist compromises, etc.) prohibits me from being multilaterally generous. Apologies for that, but if I don't protect myself, no one else will. Anyway, invites are probably ridiculously easy to obtain if the poster has 832.
