50 Cent - The Massacre

It's pretty much just a "Meh" for me. It's more dancey/lovey than it is "I got shot nine times."

Many critics are saying that 50 has gotten soft...I might tend to agree. "The Massacre" is a good collection of songs, lots of danceable tunes and all, but not what I was really expecting. I actually had hoped that the radio play I was hearing was the extent of the softer stuff. But nope, it was just the beginning.

The thing that really hit me was that the stuff I was hearing on the radio was not any different from the CD version. Meaning there wasn't much that was editied out for radio, cause it just wasn't there to begin with.

The dis track "Piggy Bank" wasn't that much of a dis really. If that is as hard as you can come at them...just stop. Hell, you spit more hatred toward The Game during y'alls week-long family rap war.

Overall, its just a middle of the ground CD for me. Nothing spectacular. I like the fact that there are some tracks I can dance to, but the overall standing of "The Massacre" is just so-so.

I have to disagree with T-Square. This is a hot album. OK, maybe not as hot as GRODT, but what album is? How many other hip-hop artists have albums out that are actually listenable from beginning to end? OK not every song is a masterpiece. But you telling me that "In My Hood" is not the joint, or "Gatman & Robbin" or "Get in My Car" or "Ski Mask Way" (hot, hot, hot!), not to mention "Ryder Music."

Come on man, don't hate on a player. 50 is the hottest nigga out there. I don't particularly like his tendency to beef with anybody with a pulse or his overwrought hubris, but when it comes to building a quality hip-hop offering he's basically in a class by himself. If you can't feel that you must be related to Ja Rule :)

Go head 50, do the damn thang!

I wasn't expecting it to be another GRODT, I just wasn't expecting it to be what it is either.

It's an OK CD...

50 in a class by himself? Are you kidding me...

aright, you guys are just hatin' on 50, this album is definetly top 3 of 2005 and we've only been in 05' for 3 months. more than half of the cd is raw as fu#$, cuts like "gunz come out", "im supposed to die tonight", and "in my hood" are three of the sickest songs i've heard. all u ja rule, jadakiss, fat joe, nas dick riders can get off 50's dick, squad up bitch

50 is okay. He's not even a lyricist. I never heard him spit somethin' complex. His punchlines are average. Yeah, the album's good, but I stopped listening to it after I brought some classics.

Nas is God.
Eminem is God.

I like 50 cent a bit! I really like Nas, who's heard that song 'In Public' by Kelis feat. Nas? IT'S GREAT! Tasty

#7 — April 1, 2005 @ 14:13PM — noneyobusiness

nas is not god. and neither is eminem. eminem is better than 50, but 50's still rising. nas and jada and fat joe have never sold 11 million on one record. when they top that, then you can bring an argument.

#8 — April 1, 2005 @ 15:29PM — Victor Plenty [URL]

Selling blah blah million records is no argument.

Anisa, what evidence do you have that the people to whom you're penning these missives will ever see them?
