Cleveland Blog and Podcasting Meetup Tonight

As Matt Wardlaw mentioned yesterday, podcasting in particular and blogging in general have been getting a lot of attention in Cleveland of late (I just live-blogged the Rock Hall Induction for Cleveland.com Monday night), which is a good sign for all involved.

Coincidentally, or not, tonight at 7 at the world famous Rock Bottom Brewery on the west side of the Flats in Cleveland, there will be a gathering of bloggers who will be schooled in the finer points of Big Media blogging by Cleveland.com Editor-in-Chief and incredibly cool individual Denise Polverine, who oversees a virtual army of bloggers at Cleveland.com (which has always been very forward-thinking in this regard) as well as writing her own Young Professionals blog.

Also on hand will be David Lay to give a talk and demonstration on podcasting. All NE Ohio bloggers, podcasters, and those interested in either denomination are welcome.

I'll be there and I see a number of pals will be too.

Career media professional Eric Olsen is honored to be the founder and publisher of Blogcritics.org, which, quite frankly, rules - as do his wife and four children.

it was a very robust (at least 30 people) gathering tht broke up into smaller groups and I went with the podcast group to try to figure out if it's something I can get into easily. It seems most people are using it for "quick and dirty" monologues or conversations, which is easy, but mixed media with music and concern for audio levels and quality, etc is much more involved. It was nice to see how far along the blogging/podcasting "community" in Cleveland has developed
