>>nalle, please stop showing off your prejudices so blatantly. i'm sure a smart guy like you knows perfectly well what the phrase means - andf if not, you should. try a search if you're REALLY stumped...<<

Actually, I've never seen it used before, and it seems so oxymoronic that I had to ask. I've seen 'Social Justice' and I certainly understand that. But how can justice be applied to a system of nature?

So I looked it up as you suggested. It's supported and advocated by some wacky liberals, but I found out what it means - and I'm for it. Never even thought there was such a movement with a name and everything, but living in a rural area I see evidence of what they're fighting every day and it's a worthy cause.

RJ: "The onrush of technology largely explains the gradual development of a "two-tier labor market" in which those at the bottom lack the education and the professional/technical skills of those at the top and, more and more, fail to get comparable pay raises, health insurance coverage, and other benefits. Since 1975, practically all the gains in household income have gone to the top 20% of households...Population below poverty line:12%"

sure hope you're right...

Yes Eric, I'm skeptical of the term. But specifically because of that I'd like to know what it means. Does it mean that everyone gets an equal share of US coal reserves?

Great piece, cuts to several fundamental truths in America.

Question: how does one go about volunteering for a local organization? Is it simply a matter of calling up / visiting and saying, "I'd like to offer x amount of my time to your cause?"

Dave - Your question is leading/tilted with the word "even" in it.

Out of curiosity, what does the phrase "environmental justice" even mean?

It is hypercapitalism, which becomes fascism. Who ever has the money makes the rules. Sad, really.
