Earlier tonight, 51 Cent said very bad things about his new artist Gameboy on the radio and kicked him out of his band P-Unit for disloyalty. Later, at the Not-Hot 97 1/2 radio station where 51 Cent was being interviewed someone broke a nail.

The man who broke his nail is unidentified, and there's no word on if this was related to the friction with Gameboy (I personally doubt that it is). I hope that the media doesn't stretch and speculate further than the facts, but the weird thing is I'm sure anyone making money on/with Gameboy and 51 are probably hoping for the opposite. Drama like this is perfect promotion for both of their new, wangsta heavy albums.

Game is a Dre protege. Check a past mixtape, he clearly defines himself as such. Adding him to G-Unit was a marketing strategy. While he had a definite and strong "word of mouth" following, it was obvious that mass appeal would be garnered much more quickly via the G-Unit affiliation. A loose affiliation that both 50 and Game have acknowledged, and that was clearly evident prior to Game's album's release. Thus, there is no real divorce from G-Unit or dismissal by 50. At worst we now will see Game elevate beyond a weak "G-Unit crony" label and clearly establish himself as a sole artist under Aftermath/Dre. (Note: I would not be surprised if the recent incidents were all scripted and planned.)
