"Mystic Dave's Tarot and Machine Shop

I have met the master — if only via the newspaper.

I opened this morning's Charlottesville Daily Progress only to be greeted by a front page story (with a nice color photo) about Dave Allbee, a handyman in Blacksburg, Virginia who also does Tarot readings.

The headline of this post is what it says on his business card.

Donna Alvis-Banks of the Roanoke Times wrote a nice story about Allbee, whose psychic abilities manifested themselves when he was a young boy.

He says he can see the future, and described it like this: "Time is like a river and you're standing on a bridge. If you're looking upstream, you can see the future. What you see may or may not happen because it can be pushed aside by the current."

That's as good a description of quantum indeterminacy

as anything ever formulated by Werner Heisenberg.

My business card simply says, under my name, "Anesthesiologist."

I wonder if I need to elaborate, in view of what Dave Allbee's done.

Your suggestions are welcome.

All will be carefully considered.

Here's a link to the story.
