i think the audioblog things can be great, have the potential to be great. i don't think THIS one is great, but i might have a GOOD one in me somewhere. A balance, i guess, between the old "conversation" style which this kinda is, and remembering that at the same time you're talking to folks who don't know you, don't live where you live, don't know the accent very well etc etc. i do have a problem with verbal communication, and generally that right there is how my conversations go... getting sidetracked in the middle of sentences and so on. so if maybe this goes someway to reminding me how to talk again (i used to be able to, man, for sure) and at the same time having a few decent jokes, maybe it'll all work out grand. i thought the steve earle cover version was quite good, mind you. heh.

no, you're about there already: this is fast-paced and energetic without being manic; it's confident and relaxed also, which puts the listener at ease; and there's a ton of great material in there as well, which never hurts, dude

yes, i hope to perhaps at some point reach a "listenable" level for sure. i find it difficult sometimes to keep the speed of my speech at a reasonable level, especially when a man has dozens of ideas blasting around in there. Practice makes perfect, hopefully, or even slightly less awful...

am listening now, vastly more "professional and listenable" -- from an audio performance standpoint -- than the nerves-dripping debut - fecund and compelling!

i always meant to see johnny suede... i do however have Living In Oblivion. I had no idea the making of the former informed the latter... Snake and De Niro would be fucking amazing, is what. There could be a scene where De Niro tries to chat Pilsen up in a soldiers ball, but no, he's having none of it. Fuck you De Niro

Regarding "Little Nickie Cave", that's been done as "Johnny Suede" which features Brad Pitt and Nick Cave (as rock star, Freak Storm), the making of which was the inspiration for "Living In Oblivion". And as a note, it was the Stone Cutter's Guild which made Steve Gutenberg a star. My suggestion for a musical movie which should be made is: "Escape from New York, New York" -- Marty Scorcese takes a post-apolocalyptic look at the Disney-fication of Broadway. Robert DeNiro performs his solo from "A Chorus Line" -- "You're Lookin' At Me", Liza Minnelli does "Sunday Morning Coming Down", and there is a huge production number from the Snake Pliskken Dancers.
