The Three Amigos, Shaft, Stretch, and Dick, three animated condoms who are helping to spread the word that condoms help protect against HIV/AIDS.

The 20 The Three Amigos public service announcements, produced by Brent Quinn of South Africa and Firdaus Kharas of Canada, have received rave reviews,  including the support of The Most Reverend Desmond Tutu. Available in 41 languages, the goal is to expand that to over 50 languages, and to have it viewed by a billion people around the world.

"The PSA's use the images of three condoms, to convey through comedy the important message of using condoms to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Producers chose comedy to create messages that were non-threatening and broadly appealing across all age groups, social strata and cultural boundaries." - www.thethreeamigos.org

To see Shaft,Stretch, and Dick (you just gotta LOVE the names) in action, there`s a link to "The Beautiful Game" on The Three Amigos main page.

Wish you'd just sign in with a name or something Annie. Full Tilt Features sounds like a PR firm.

Are The Three Amigos your clients?

And yes, they are funny. And they're so ugly they'll put off ideas of sex for a long while. At least past that 36 hour cialis limit.

Ha! I suppose it does! No, we`re not a PR firm. My blog is a group blog (all members of Full Tilt), and I`m not sure if we all have to post under one name, or sigh up individually. I only signed us/me up for Blogcritics yesterday, which meant I only had 24 hours to make my first post. With the site down today, I didn`t have much time to look into it all.

And no, no affiliation with The Three Amigos either. I just found the whole concept especially hilarious after the recent SpongeBob SquarePants fiasco...I can only imagine what James Dobson would have to say about it!

All that aside, it`s an innovative approach to dealing with a very serious problem...And a gutsy one! My hat`s off to the all volunteer team who put this together.

Hadn't thought about the Spongebob angle :-) Someone should send them the link - might take the heat of poor SB SP

I only make a point of the name because I like talking with people - even if it's a fake name. I feel kind of stupid saying "good point Full Tilt ... " A few people put their blog names up with the .com at the end which is just egregious and ugly whoring.

It's a peeve of mine. I highly encourage you to send the link to what, Dobson?

Interesting how the lessons of Joe Camel get applied in the real world, eh?

In light of the recent revelations of a more virulent form of AIDs, as well as the age old problems of social diesease and teen pregnancy, anything that gets people to consider condom use as normal and necessary will be a good thing.

thanks Annie, I see you are "you" now - if any of your other members want to join up we'd be very ahppy to have them. I'm really glad to be getting more visual elements on hte site

Yeap, I`ve blown my cover! ;)

Some great art work on your site Annie. Helping to stop the spread of HIV through heightened awarness of proper precautions though humor and art certainly has its place in the battle.

One article active on the site today pertaining to an anatomically correct Frog is an interesting contrast to this effort. I wonder if your Three Amigos would recieve the same reception as the Crazy Frog on Brit TV ?
