Are blogs the new Google?

Ask Jeeves thinks so.

The company, buried deep in the shadows of Google and Yahoo, yesterday announced it has purchased Bloglines from Mark Fletcher, who founded it in 2003 and has been running it out of his home.

According to Simon Avery's article in today's Toronto Globe and Mail, Ask Jeeves is betting that the next wave of activity in the internet world will come from blogs.
