Pick of the Week. 2/8/05
Published February 08, 2005
A relatively small week with nothing really screaming out as a must buy. I was still able to make a pick! This weeks pick is Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull. Believe it or not, a classic that I have not yet seen. I have been wanting to see this for awhile now, and this looks like a good opportunity to pick it up.
I don't really have any commentary to add to this, other than I hope that this is a good set!
There are some other titles of interest coming out this week:
- Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. I think this was the only title from the second generation of Godzilla flicks that hadn't previously been released in the US.
- Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster. The next release from the first series of films.
- The Notebook. I wanted to see this in the theater but missed it.
- Shark Tale. My recommendation is to avoid this, it's not that good.
- The Grid. A television mini series about fighting terrorism, looks pretty good.
- Deadwood Season 1. I have heard a lot good about this down and dirty western series.
- The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Season 1. Who would have thought that this rapper turned sitcom star would become such a huge actor?
- Night Court Season 1. I had completley forgotten about this series prior to reading about this release.
Until next week!

It's also the first time in widescreen and in Japanese. Sadly, the subtiltes are just captions from the dub, not a translation and the picture is less than solid. One of the few mis-fires from Sony's recent releases. Still a great flick regardless.
Thanks for the info! Somehow I missed that VHS release, I'll have to pick it up despite the issues...
